Why Gun Stocks are Plunging Since Trump Won
CNN Money ^ | 11-11-2016 | Aaron Smith

Gun stocks have plunged since the election of Donald Trump. What happened? Trump was endorsed by the National Rifle Association and was the clear favorite of white, rural, gun-loving America. But the stock prices for Sturm, Ruger (RGR) and Smith & Wesson (SWHC) have both dropped by more than 20% since Trump won. The problem is that gun lovers are losing their biggest boogeyman: Hillary Clinton, who would have continued President Barack Obama's pursuit of gun control legislation. She was so reviled by the industry that Ruger CEO Michael Fifer described her in August as "actively campaigning against the lawful commerce in arms." At the same time, his company reported a 19% spike in quarterly sales, fueled by

Didn’t they rig the grenade launcher to make it able to use NATO grenades?
The spring-loaded bayonet’s a nice touch too. The range officer didn’t even blink. It’s seen some hard use but the barrel’s not shot out. Longer barrel than the AKs, accurate.
I left it completely stock. No TAPCOing. The sights are nice.

I guess I better go pick up that Henry rifle I’ve been wanting.

I did that a few months back. Big Boy in .44Mag. Topped with receiver mount peep sight from Skinner Sights. The 240 gr JHC has a pretty stout recoil and you have to be careful about only filling the tubular mag with the lever closed. Should be a fine deer rifle.

One caveat with the Skinner Express sight. The elevation with the stock sight is off. You need to swap the front blade too. I need to take mine out to a 100 yard range and get a more precise measurement. It will be a filing job to finish the task. Stock one is too short. Shoots high. Replacement will be too tall and shoot low. A little filing will bring it in. The peep really improved my groups. Be sure to view to video on the Henry site for doing the field strip for cleaning. I was unfamiliar with the process for a Henry.

This blows up the stupid theory that the NRA and gun makers are in bed together. At least it should, but the snowflakes need something to hold onto.

I was pleasantly surprised when one of my shops had a fresh stock of Hornady 17 Mach 2. I bought a case. My 17M2 supply was down to one box and I wasn't sure they would be making more. My CZ 452 is a fine little rifle, but just a club without the ammo. It's a fine round for harvesting fur bearers.

I still don't own a semi-auto .308. I would thrilled to lay my hands on a real M14. Perhaps Trump can have enough influence to fix some of the stupid laws. They are pre-1986 and NFA (if you could get them approved). There is also a move afoot to get suppressors out of the NFA designation. I would have a .22LR suppressor on my bolt action immediately. The 300BLK would be next. One can hope.

I’m calling it now. Civil war by 2025. Now is not the time to back off on being prepared.

I'll agree with you on that call. We may have scored a breather, but we are still headed that way.

Useful for prodding people who overstay their time in the rental lane :-)

Bought it many years ago and believe it was about $60.
If I could go back in time I’d buy several more and use them around the campfire to roast frankfurters and marshmallows.
I suppose the neighbors might be alarmed ...

I own three pre-1989 Federal Ordnance M-14A’s with bayonet lug and all. Firing them is such a dream I have to drop the magazine before I burn up all the ammo.

Found an M-14E2 stock but without hardware. Treeline.com has a buttpad & standard M-14 hardware works for swivels. With a Springfield Armory scope mount I may have found the perfect rifle.

It’s morning in America and we gun owners have so much to look forward to. We have been blessed.

Thanks for all of the good info friend. The .44 Mag is the one I was looking at. Good stuff. Thanks again!

If you have a Rural King near you, I was just on their site and all Henry rifles in stock are 10% off list.

Huh? It’s been available for a long time. You should have at least one case of every caliber gun you own.

A talented man can put his pants in both legs at once.

As a disclaimer, I’d say don’t attempt it. Serious injuries can result heh.

On the subject, I’m glad prices aren’t going crazy anymore. I like to recreationally shoot.

Not around here it hasn’t and we just don’t get to the big city often.

This spring we killed over 1000 rabbits and we’re not the only ones fighting them.
