Donald Trump might only be a part-time resident of the White House.

The New York Times reported the president-elect is already talking with his advisers about how many nights a week he will actually stay in the official presidential mansion. According to the newspaper he has told them he would like to do what he always has – spend time in New York.

Trump, according to the newspaper, was shocked when he won the election and is trying to come to terms that his life is about to change. The Times noted that during the campaign he often flew hours late at night just to sleep in his own bed in Trump Towers in New York City.

Washington DC becomes the ceremonial capitol. Congress lives and meets at some abandoned military base near Omaha.

I’d be surprised if Trump doesn’t take a suite in his new hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue during the transition.

Isn’t that why he built it anyway? lol

Sounds like speculation from Newsmax. I’ll wait until the official report comes.

He’s gonna be super busy and will want to adapt to the WH and Camp David.

Well, he has his own damn hotel right down the street.

I’m fine with that. Many older people get set in their ways. Let him be comfortable. Create a new normal for the presidency. As long as the security is adequate.
Besides, with today’s technology, you don’t always need to physically be present to become effective. There’s skyping, periscoping, streaming, virtual reality, etc. Just guard against any hacking. This is where someone like Peter Theil of Facebook will be able to help and advise.

But President is a way of life, not just a job. It’s 24/7/365.

Trump, and most other self made billionaires like him have lived their entire life working nearly around the clock. The folks in DC will find themselves dealing with somebody who probably starts working earlier and works later than any of them ever have.

Not really. Nixon, Reagan, Bush 43 all spent what added up to months at their homes or escapes. Nixon had San Clemente and the place in Fla. Reagan had Rancho Cielo and Bush43 had his ranch in Texas. Carter spent much time at his farm in Georgia. Only Bubba and Barky had no real place to call home so they stayed in DC and did their summer vacays on the Vineyard.
