Donald Trump might only be a part-time resident of the White House.

The New York Times reported the president-elect is already talking with his advisers about how many nights a week he will actually stay in the official presidential mansion. According to the newspaper he has told them he would like to do what he always has – spend time in New York.

Trump, according to the newspaper, was shocked when he won the election and is trying to come to terms that his life is about to change. The Times noted that during the campaign he often flew hours late at night just to sleep in his own bed in Trump Towers in New York City.

Of course he's not gonna want to spend *all* his time there. He can spend most weekends at Camp David as well as some time in NYC.But he does have a responsibility to spend most of his time at least *close* to the WH for reasons of security as well as communications and proximity to key staff members.

The Slimes reports - who believes them? He should live in the White House, sends a good message. He can always bring his own bed with him when he moves in.

Even though symbolism is important, though, just remember he’ll still be on the job more than the current occupant.

We should all recall Donald’s criticism of Obama because he was NEVER at the White House ! He stated that he would be there all the time.

Ha, yeah—didn’t even think of that. Already the block around Trump tower is supposed to be a nightmare until inauguration. If he never fully moves out, that will be ongoing—as well as the traffic nightmare you point out.

Agree.

Unless Marine One can land on the roof of Trump Tower, it’ll create a huge headache for his security and traffic.

But it’s nice to have a President again who actually owns his own home ( a 58 story one to boot) that wasn’t purchased for him by wealthy donors.

He’ll adapt. Moving always stinks. I don’t blame him for a bit of preemptive homesickness. He can trick out Camp David more or less as he sees fit. I suspect he will be reluctant to disrupt his friends and neighbors in NYC. He’s going to be stuffed into a protective bubble, and I think he knew that or sensed that before he decided to run. had to be a substantial factor in choosing to run.

Thinks about 9/11. Easier to Safeguard the President at WH than in the Penthouse of Trump Tower.
I realize Presidents travel and accomodations have to be made but he needs to be able to get to a bunker on a regular basis. He is going to be a huge target.

I will be very surprised of we don’t see a lot of media changes over the next four years.

The Left will be angry at the networks that lied to them.

We won’t be tuning in. Who’s going to be watching?
