Sheriff Joe Arpaio, David Clarke May Be Leading Department of Homeland Security
Salon.com ^ | Brian Tashman

Donald Trump’s transition team is reportedly considering Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, Sheriff David Clarke and outgoing Maricopa County, Arizona, Sheriff Joe Arpaio as possible nominees to head up the Department of Homeland Security.

Clarke has made a name for himself as a Fox News pundit and avid supporter of the gun lobby, using his platform in the media to attack Black Lives Matter, which he describes as a lawless, “subversive” and potentially ISIS-linked group composed of “black slime” that must be “eradicated,” and to champion the cause of anti-government militants, whom he praises as patriots.

When white supremacists murdered six people at a Sikh temple in Milwaukee County, Clarke faced criticism for being “AWOL.” In September, an inmate died of thirst in a jail run by Clarke. He reportedly begged for water “in the days before he died.”

He has also compared Beyonce to a Ku Klux Klan member, called for the Great Seal of the United States to feature a semi-automatic rifle, and repeatedly demanded a literal uprising against the government in protest of President Obama’s gun violence proposals, potential election rigging and marriage equality.

Today, Clarke tweeted that those protesting Trump’s election “must be quelled.”

Arpaio, who lost his bid for re-election on Tuesday but emerged as a frequent companion of Trump’s on the campaign trail, may have a tough road to being confirmed if he’s nominated, as he was recently charged with contempt of court after federal prosecutors said“he willfully defied a judge’s orders to stop targeting Latinos—including citizens and legal immigrants—in traffic stops and other law enforcement efforts.”

Arpaio could be head of the DEA. He’s 84 going on 50. He used to be an FBI agent and worked for the DEA.

Simply make Clark is deputy director, who takes over if Joe croaks.

Sheriff David Clarke absolutely needs to be the federal head of a department dealing with the staged, Soros funded lawlessness, staged, black-racist, anti police BLM, and anti Trump anarchist movements. Along with dealing with the out of control crime and lawlessness taking place within the inner cities.

Don’t worry ...I was never a big fan of Priebus , but Trump sees something in him and that speaks volumes . Priebus had one of the hardest jobs imaginable in this past primary . He came under enormous pressure from the GOPe to stop Trump at all costs, but instead he honored his pledge to be fair to everyone . Priebus also forcefully put down the convention rebellion that the GOPe was attempting against Trump .
Trump rewards loyalty and honor, and it looks like Priebus has been both . I will go with Trump’s judgement on this and Trump hasn’t been wrong yet .
On the flip side , Bannon is going to be chief advisor, which is a dream come true . Trump is doing what he does best and is assembling a dream team that will very effectively advance his agenda . This is going to be awesome with great things to come .

That would be perfect ... I still can’t believe we are discussing these names with a President Trump about to assume power ... this is better than Christmas

Let Arpaio have a shot, Clarke can have it after him.

Watching more liberal heads explode if given to Arpaio would be so worth it!

Arpaio and Clark are real people who protect real people. Tashman is just a hack with a keyboard who has never walked a beat, probably never done a ride-along, probably doesn’t have a cop in his family, and doesn’t know jackshit about reality.

ExactlyL JA sits in DC and then Clarke executes in the field (which is his forte’). The combo is quite exhilarating.

Prius is a fine choice, he and Walker have turned Wisconsin from reliably Blue to brilliant red. Great job, the only question is whether he could do more good working with the national party organization.

I’ve got Sheriff Joe running ICE, while Sheriff Clark will be heading up the EEOC.

“...Priebus...Trump sees something in him and that speaks volumes...”

100% agree and this is my conclusion as well.

Trump must have witnessed Priebus behind the scenes efforts during the final push and determined that he was going to be genuinely trustworthy and I totally trust Trump’s judgment.

Priebus must have proved his worth to Trump in a concrete way that we do not need to know about necessarily; I trust that it happened and Trump’s giving the appointment to him is a sound decision because Trump is proving to have very good instincts.
