Faithless electors are rare but even if there were some this time, they would switch their Trump votes to another Republican or maybe an independent, not Clinton.

Only the libs forgot this part of the process which states that BOTH the Senate and the House must ACCEPT the electors votes from each state.

If there is an OBJECTION sustained by both houses of Congress then that “electors” vote can be rejected or the electors votes from the ENTIRE state can be REFUSED:

“Joint session of Congress and contingencies

Further information: Contingent election
The Twelfth Amendment mandates Congress assemble in joint session to count the electoral votes and declare the winners of the election.[57] The session is ordinarily required to take place on January 6 in the calendar year immediately following the meetings of the presidential electors.[58] Since the Twentieth Amendment, the newly elected House declares the winner of the election; all elections before 1936 were determined by the outgoing House.

The meeting is held at 1:00 pm in the Chamber of the U.S. House of Representatives.[58] The sitting vice president is expected to preside, but in several cases the President pro tempore of the Senate has chaired the proceedings. The vice president and the Speaker of the House sit at the podium, with the vice president in the seat of the Speaker of the House. Senate pages bring in the two mahogany boxes containing each state’s certified vote and place them on tables in front of the senators and representatives. Each house appoints two tellers to count the vote (normally one member of each political party). Relevant portions of the Certificate of Vote are read for each state, in alphabetical order.

Members of Congress can object to any state’s vote count, provide objection is presented in writing and is signed by at least one member of each house of Congress. An objection supported by at least one senator and one representative will be followed by the suspension of the joint session and by separate debates and votes in each House of Congress; after both Houses deliberate on the objection, the joint session is resumed.

A state’s certificate of vote can be rejected only if both Houses of Congress vote to accept the objection. In that case, the votes from the State in question are simply ignored. The votes of Arkansas and Louisiana were rejected in the presidential election of 1872.[59]”

Tampering with the electoral vote would bring terrible, unintended consequences. I don’t care if these commies come up with 500 million online petition signatures, the vote has been cast and the pols are closed.

“Further, these electors who turn coat will have their names known and be at their peril.”

Yea, I was thinking the same...a few may want to ‘make a statement’ but if they affect the outcome, they likely will be looking over their shoulders for a very long time.

If they turn coat, we just need their names.

“It will never ever happen!”......

Never say “never”, with that bunch of immature, sniveling crybaby snowflakes, anything is possible. Overthrowing an election can be considered treason and they are ripe already for such charges.

I doubt they’d be looking over their shoulders very long at all. The consequences for this country would be swift and absolute. It would not be a sectional war, but a true civil war.

I want to see EVERY. SINGLE. LAST. LEGITIMATE vote counted before they tell me that Clinton won the popular vote.

"Their major focus is trying to get members of the U.S. Electoral College to change their vote, arguing that Clinton should be the next president because 60.47 Americans voted for her, compared to 60 million for Trump."

Electoral College members have no constitutional obligation to honor a petition.

Also note that the Founding States had decided not to give ordinary voters the power to elect either POTUS or senators. The fact that voters now do so is a consequence of the anti-constitutional republic Progressive Movement butchering the intentions of the Founding States as enumerated in the Constitution as evidenced by the 12th Amendment. (The ill-conceived 17th Amendment needs to be repealed.)

Misguided, low-information voters evidently do not understand the following about the federal government. Military issues aside, one of the very few things that their votes for federal leaders actually win for them where domestic policy is concerned is a voice in how the US Mail Service (1.8.7) is run.

In other words, most federal domestic policy is based on stolen 10th Amendment-protected state powers. So president-elect Trump should either politically “force” the corrupt feds to surrender state powers that they have stolen from the states back to the states, or let the states ratify amendments to the Constitution to justify the stolen powers that the state would agree that the feds can keep.

Whatever happened to the idea that we must all accept the results of the election?

A case of Clinton amnesia sets it.

I don't remember.

306 electoral votes won by President Trump

A virtual tie at the popular level with a landslide at the electoral level.

The voter rolls need to be cleaned up and cleaned out.

NO duplicate voting allowed. Not more than one vote per living person cast by that person themselves.

The technology exists to make that a doable job before the next election.

There were no “stolen” powers from the states.

Re-runs of 2000.

The Electors represent their State and no other State. The votes in other states are irrelevant to their role.

Voters target Electoral College members to switch their Trump ballots, elect Clinton

The word "coup" has been thrown around carelessly the last few days by the absolutely most unbalanced, ignorant and violent segment of the American population.

Nothing IN HISTORY before as blatant as this thread suggests. The final election results are claimed to show that the Fat, Ugly, unindicted Criminal Cow won the popular vote, so she's entitled to be declared the winner.
The Criminal Hag has not actually given up. The only rational response is to make sure she continues her treason and sedition from a jail cell. A Nelson Mandela she is most definitely not.

So much for the illusion that the concession speech Hillary delivered was written by her and sincerely delivered. That she would show grace after 30 years of constant criminal behavior is such an absurd suggestion.
That she would gracefully retire into the background and embrace the very words that she delivered is a huge joke.

The phrase enemies 'foreign and domestic' now owns a new and clear meaning and it's clear who that is. If Hillary (for now) enjoys Secret Service protection it must be more than protection; it must also include enforcing her house arrest.

The Screeching Bitch's fangs and huge stolen wealth will remain a clear and present danger to the Republic.

And the final popular vote must be minutely confirmed no matter how much work is involved to exclude fraudulent votes from multiple voters (financed by Soros through the Clintons) AND ILLEGAL ALIEN VOTERS WHO HAVE BOASTED ON SOCIAL MEDIA TO HAVE VOTED MANY MULTIPLE TIMES. IDENTIFY, IMMEDIATELY DEPORT AND PERMANENTLY BAN. THE WHOLE FAM DAMILY!

The time has come to view the invading enemies and get serious about rendering them impotent.
BOTH FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC.

The Assault on the Constitution and the Electoral College is relentless. Someone is behind that. The only real question remaining is who? Aside from Soros, the Clintons and their BILLION$ ?

Yeah, I don’t get it, we show our driver’s license (or other ID) to vote here in KY, and it works great. There are no big stories of voter fraud here.

If you have to show your ID to access your bank account, buy something, take a flight, or enter a building, is it too much to ask that you show it to vote?

The only ones who fight against this are those who want to cheat.

True.

State legislatures direct how electors are chosen and many states have laws which bind electors.
