WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump elicited wild cheers on the campaign trail by pledging to “drain the swamp” in Washington, but the president-elect’s transition team is populated largely with creatures of the capital, including former federal bureaucrats, think-tank academics, corporate lawyers and special-interest lobbyists.
An internal organizational chart for the Trump transition team lists more than 30 names, some well-known within the GOP establishment. They are tasked with helping to select and vet Trump’s Cabinet, as well as map out the key policy initiatives the new administration will pursue.

Exactly. This is a transition team. Mr. Trump doesn't have time to waste stumbling over the small details. He needs people who know what they're doing to help him set up shop so when January 20th rolls around, he's ready to hit the ground running.
I have faith in Trump's ability to put the right people in the right places and let them do their jobs. This is successful executive leadership in action.

Donald Trump will NOT tolerate embarrassment, incompetence, or personal or national betrayal no matter WHO is installed as part of the transition team. No back-stabbing BSers need apply...and they know it.

I want people who know how to run government put one together. I would never want some one like myself who has no experience trying to do this try and figure out who should be working at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. unfortunaly that means you need these individuals who have been in government to evaluate everyone chosen to be at the white house working for Trump. its trumps job to make sure that they are not letting lobbyist control the process.
The US Government is probably the largest and most complex entity on the planet.
You gotta have people who know where the gears and levers are, what they do, and how to operate them.
It is the Captain and officers of a ship who determine the course and speed.
It is the technicians, engineers and shipboard workmen who make the vessel go turn and stop.
Obama changed the direction of the US Government and took it off course.
Trump can put it back on course.

Most of the smelly animals (that’s SCIENCE, baby) in the media have not learned a thing from the election, and will continue to act as extensions of the Democratic Party.
The media has implemented a plan to try to get Trump supporters to abandon him by trying to convince them that Trump has betrayed them. The problem is they overplayed it in the first few days after the election. This is like the tenth story in the last 24 hours along those lines. Nice try, guys, but subtlety might have been a better way to go.

Trump's reputation precedes him. He will accept NO excuses. His admin has a chance to be the best, most competent Admin in 200 years. I am dead serious.
What takes the typical admin 2 + years to accomplish (IF accomplished) will take 6-8 months. Morale will be excellent. We are exteremely blessed to have such a devoted and honorable man as President. The Lord has give America one last chance.

I'd been reading how Trump said he is "honored" to meet with President Zero, how helpful his counsel was, how they may meet in the future "many times"; And of course how Melania "loves" Bigfoot. He says the unexpected, does the unexpected.
Keep your friends close and enemies closer. The man's People IQ is off the chart. Loyalty is very important to him.

Yes, by necessity the knowledge of folks who are familiar with protocol may have a few warts in their past. But if nothing else, Trump is also a fair person, willing to give some a second chance at redemption.
This process may well discover a few rotten apples in it eventually -- as they all do -- but there will be a multi-layered system to filter the trash, dependent on loyalty and honor.
