Practicing homosexuality is a normal, if not vital, part of demonstrating masculinity for straight, white males, said Jane Ward, professor of gender and sexuality studies at the University of California Riverside.
Ward visited IU on Thursday to talk about the ideas covered in her book, Not Gay: Sex Between Straight White Men, specifically surrounding how homosexuality impacts straight, white men.
Im very interested in complicating our understanding of heterosexuality, because heterosexuality and queerness are mutually constituted, Ward said.

No but seriously, why didn't Pence and other governors stop tax payer dollars from going to classes with zero educational and economic value?
These folks are seriously deranged.
I really wish women would stop beieving they know better what white male heterosexuality is all about.
Spoiler - shes way off base. What do i know, i am just a straight white guy.
Sorry, my dear, I'm an old-school Shellback and there wasn't any pickle smooching involved. Somebody's been leading you down the garden path.
wow, maybe my straightness is actually perversion, and i need to seek professional help...
...NOT!
lol
In her presentation entitled “White Heteromasculinity, Anal Resilience, and the Erotic Spectacle of Repulsion”, Jane Ward, author and explorer of gender at the University of California Riverside, shows a captive NYU audience provocative images of the white American heterosexual male’s obsession with homoerotic acts. The funny thing is that this push towards male homosexuality as “acceptable” has pushed some males who need bonding time with other men in a friend capacity to avoid doing so because they would be considered “homosexual” and they know they are not.
Men do need to bond with other male friends to a certain degree, sorta like the bond between brothers, nothing sexual mind you, but an emotional peer group bond.
In a weird way if a male needs more bonding than a stoic lone-wolf male he may in this climate may end up thinking with all the social pressure that they are a homosexual when they are not. These men then sometimes end up in sexual relationships with other men and later end up deeply regretting it.
Ironically the acceptance of male homosexuality has caused heterosexual men as a whole to drift further apart from each other thus weakening heterosexual men as a solidarity type group. Which then makes it easier for the feminists and homosexual advocates to decay it even further.
LOL. All my romantic dreams are about women. I must be a freak!
Some stupid fag hag making it up as she goes.
People ought to come to their senses and ridicule these jackasses.
Throwing rotten tomatoes at them would be good, too.
Hey kids, it is "dhimmi the liberal barbie" she comes with her own scarf she can wrap over her head when a muslim man walks into the room so she won't culturally oppress them with a dangerous micro-agression....
sure going to be fun when Trump cuts all funding for this tripe
The idea of sexual contact with other men is as gross as the idea of sexual contact with Hillary Clinton. Both are complete non-starters. In Hillary’s case, it’s personal; she is shockingly gross both physically and her personality. With men, it’s not necessarily personal; the physical/emotional side simply has zero appeal, regardless of how good looking or how nice women may find particular men. For gays, there may be a spectrum from mostly bi to mostly gay, but for normal men, it’s 100% straight, without even a grain of gay.
OK, that is weird shit. I’m sorry. Who comes up with this stuff?
This piece of garbage teaches at the university of kalifornia at riverside.
If I were an Indiana resident I would start a campaign to get rid of the Indiana garbage that engaged her.
She looks freaked out.
And the residents of kalifornia pay her to “teach” about the joys of non-procreational, recreational sex for straight guys?
Well, I think there is definitely sexual tension among groups of young males living together, and it is, or was, usually dissipated by joking and “pranks”. Of course “pranks” come close to the boundary, and even cross it, but in those cases it is under a sort of licence, is it not? Life goes on.
