One of Trump's First Decisions After the Election... [WOW!! Ebell in the EPA!!)
Independent Journal Review ^ | Nov. 10, 2016- | Kayla Brandon

Posted on 11/11/2016 4:45:56 PM PST by Mrs. Don-o

Donald Trump's transition team is preparing for the billionaire businessman to take over as commander in chief, they're ruffling a few feathers along the way.

Scientific American reports Trump has selected climate change critic, Myron Ebell, to lead his Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) transition team.

Ebell, who's the director of the Center for Energy and Environment at the conservative Competitive Enterprise Institute, has been described by Newsweek as a fierce opponent of climate change, which the publisher calls “entirely at odds with scientific consensus.”

David Goldston, a policy analyst at the Natural Resources Defense Council Action Fund, explained that Ebell's disbelief in climate change would “utterly destroy” any environmental advances made by the Obama administration:

“The Competitive Enterprise [Ebell's employer] Institute has done everything it can politically and through litigation to block any forward movement on climate and to try to harass anybody who is trying to get forward movement.”

Trump's controversial pick should come to no surprise, given his harsh stance on climate change:

The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive. — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 6, 2012

Give me clean, beautiful and healthy air - not the same old climate change (global warming) bullshit! I am tired of hearing this nonsense. — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 29, 2014

The backlash Trump's receiving from the left is expected, but some are taking it a step further by petitioning for Ebell to not lead the EPA transition team.

It reads, in part:

“Donald Trump has chosen a leading climate skeptic to head the EPA transition. Do not let a man who denies science in the name of profit lead the nation in environmental protection.”

The petition needs 100,000 signatures in order to get a response from the White House; it has a mere 1,055 so far.

Other Democrats on social media were just as upset:

Fuck, Trump picks Exxon funded climate denier, Myron Ebell, to head EPA transition https://t.co/UAtF2x1F0a — Naadir Jeewa (@randomvariable) November 9, 2016

Myron Ebell, Trump’s pick to lead the EPA, is a lobbyist for fossil fuel industry. Think the system’s rigged? Ask who’s doing the rigging. — Darcy James Argue (@darcyjamesargue) November 10, 2016

So it begins. Trumps transition man for the EPA is @myronebell who is one of the biggest climate skeptics around. Good job America. — Akash Patel (@ab_patel9) November 9, 2016

Senior politics editor of The Huffington Post, Sam Stein, summed up his thoughts on Trump's controversial pick:

FWIW. we have probably lost the battle against climate change tonight — Sam Stein (@samsteinhp) November 9, 2016

Though Newsweek notes Ebell leading the EPA transition team doesn't mean he will definitely have a job within a Trump EPA, his position is undoubtedly a sign of what's to come.

Let’s see how that consensus plays out when all those scientists lose funding. After all, it’s settled science so no need to keep funding them.

Nobel? Oh, I accept, I accept, but only if it includes a free meal.

I'd bring back a take-home doggie bag for Bob Dylan.

What did Obama say to the Republican congressman back in 2009? I believe it way “Elections have consequences, and you lost.” Shoe’s on the other foot now!

Big old laugh. We have a huge Costco composter that does the same thing.

The enviros love us for doing this. Yet as you posted, our composter churns out the evil robust quantities of the three major greenhouse gases: CO2, methane, and water vapor.

Now, we will not be doing as much as our garbage service now picks up our compostables and turns it into compost, which they sell. We will still have a full composter for her spring plantings in her horse troughs.

We did it to refill my wife’s horse watering troughs, which she uses as plant containers for her tomatoes and other edible goodies including a miniature fig tree that starts figging in August through October.

Maybe just MAYBE, Trump is more conservative than we knew!!! PRAYERS.

Three things. T

1. There's a lot of areas in which he does not or did not have a strong opinion, but he will "dance with the one what brung him."

2. He just spent a year and a half going all over the country, truly engaging with the people in a way that no one has done since maybe Williams Jennings Bryan, and technology makes him into a multiplier, and he WON.

3. The lefties and the media STILL insist on using the same tactics against him that haven't worked for the last year and a half. Scott Walker was the best I had seen at making his enemies tire themselves out, Trump turns their energy against them.

"...has been described by Newsweek as a fierce opponent of climate change"

How can anybody be against "climate change"? It's not possible, not with our current capabilities. Climate change is a natural event, that takes centuries to occur, and we have no way to stop it.

What Newsweak doesn't want to say is that, Trump and Ebell are against the junk science of "global warming".

It’s just good SENSE.

I've always felt that conservatism is just simple common sense.

I've noticed that Trump in some of his recent campaign events has been referring to his agenda as "simple common sense".
