I noticed this too. Trump seemed very un-Trump like. Part of me thinks Obama has something on Trump and will use it if Trump starts to dismantle his legacy in anything but a symbolic way.
If Obama had something, he would have used it already.

He was being polite and respectful. Trump doesn’t back down to anyone.
I’m more inclined to think that the reality of the U.S. presidency was made clear to Mr. Trump in the Oval Office. It’s an incredible responsibility and now its his.
The campaign is over. Trump has to think about the truth of the power he will wield. I expect it’s a very sobering experience.
