Trump has so many problems to resolve that he should address very quickly, I think he should contact all of the major management consulting firms and tell them to draft proposals to evaluate each of them individually. For instance, have 3 of them draft a proposal to evaluate and make recommendations as to how to improve the VA. Have economists and the major tax accounting firms draft proposals on tax policy. Find management consulting firms who are qualified to draft proposals on immigration control and reform. You get the point...stop relying upon political strategists to determine policy (which is fraught with problems and flaws)...use the public sector management consulting industry to examine these problems and propose solutions. I guarantee that he is very much used to doing business in this logical fashion.
Privatize and fire every VA director and the entire board and new bidding process for suppliers. That’s a start.
Why don’t they just dismantle & sell off the VA. Take the money and just give veterans vouchers to spend on their health care as they see fit.
Tax cuts and regulation relief would be key to almost everything else he needs to do.
I like your suggestion...which is why the use of outside management consultants can find a better solution and I am sure at a better cost and with better service...privatizaion beats government disservice any time
Trump has already set up a webpage where you can contact them directly.
He promised us a library or something like that in the W.H. that would be fully staffed to hear from citizens.

Send him your idea.
Because
(A) Taking care of our veterans is one of the few and defined powers of the federal government
(B) Veterans' care is different from civilian care and requires specialists that aren't normally found in your local hospital
I sure hope he makes good use of his management and delegation skills and does not succumb to the usual establishment cronyism
If you think you can be of help, click that link .. seriously.
I'm just a broken down oldish carpenter .. doubt they need many of those ;-)
You mean like the firm Obama hired to build the Obamacare website for a trillion dollars? LMAO
I’ll trust Trump and his trusted advisors to handle it, thanks anyway.
Here’s how you start to fix the problems at the VA.
You introduce a new pay chart for VA employees.
Model it after the “Magic Disability Chart” they use with Veterans.
You know, the chart where an 80% disability gets run through it and magically becomes 10%?
Yeah, like that.
You have a VA bureaucrat who is causing problems?
Run their pay through the Magical Pay Chart.
Their 100% pay magically becomes 40%.
If they ask about it, just give them the same answer they give Veterans.
“I don’t know. Fill out a form.”
Get rid of the union.
No.
They slow things down.
Energy in the Executive.
There are 20-30 things to execute on Day 1. Trump can line them up and sign them in the first HOUR.
Among which, fire 100% of the people he can legally fire. Make life hell for the remaining civil servants especially AFSCME and other union goons.
Overwhelm them Donald on day 1.
Then it will always be poorly run, over-priced, wasteful, slipshod & dangerous to veterans. Giving them a voucher (meaning $$$!) to spend it on their healthcare is taking care of them! And you know what I bet those “specialists” will follow that voucher ($$$) and set up specialty hospital/clinics to meet their needs!
Now I do support meeting the medical needs of veterans but it should be done so it actually does so!
You’re saying its one of the specifically enumerated powers in the Constitution. I don’t remember the ‘Article & Section’ that it says that can you provide that link?
I sincerely hope he has blockbuster announcements after the inaugeration about his immediate plans to tear apart the liberal aspects of our federal government and eradicate the cronyism. Immediately deport all illegal aliens in our prison system and send them back home saving hundreds of millions.
All military service falls under the domain of the federal government.
