I agree with the two years part. Not about limiting what is accomplished. Everyone on Trump’s team has to realize they have to do EVERYTHING in two years, that is all.

24 hours is ok, but I’d prefer 24 years.

An Adverse Aspect

The only adverse aspect of today’s action from Mr. Nixon’s point of view is that he can now be more easily forced to testify in the forthcoming trial of several of his former aides accused of obstruction of justice in the Watergate case. The defendants have already subpoenaed the former President for the trial scheduled to open Sept. 30, and Mr. Nixon, having been pardoned, cannot decline to testify under the Fifth Amendment, which protects citizens against self-incrimination.

Mr. Ford’s action today was a sharp reversal from the position his aides conveyed as he ascended to the Presidency on Aug. 9.

What would be done about prosecuting the former President was even then a major question, because Mr. Nixon admitted in a statement of Aug. 5 that he had ordered a halt to the investigation of the Watergate burglary, for political as well as national security reasons. Tape recordings released at the same time documented this.

Her new moniker would be Hillary Nixon.

And given she got fired from her legal job trying to make up phony evidence to frame Nixon.....

This would be great! It would be acknowledging that Clinton is a crook and the only reason she wasn’t prosecuted under him is because his administration was protecting her. No equal justice for all. Trump can show how this is proof of the rigged system and a rotten Democrat party where the government is for the benefit of the elites at the expense of the masses.

Of course, if he does pardon her it’ll be to protect himself because his emails to her will come out after the inauguration.

An obama pardon for Hillary is the absolute BEST thing that could happen for Trump and the Republicans, and the absolute worst thing that could happen to Obama, Clinton and the Democrats.

Here’s why:

1. A blanket pardon for Hillary and some or all of her minions would be a MAJOR stain on his “legacy”.

2. Pardoning Hillary is likely to create a major backlash and likely to do MAJOR damage to the Democrat party as such a pardon is proof-positive that the Democrat standard-bearer did in fact commit major crimes and lied about it to the public. People will trust the Democrats even less than they do now, rightfully believing that the system is truly rigged for the elite, allowing them to get away with committing major crimes that ordinary mortals would be imprisoned for.

3. Pardoning Hillary removes a major tar-baby in Trump’s path that would otherwise distract him from his agenda. A pardon by Obama allows Trump and the Republicans to have talked tough without actually having to take tough action, while also blaming crooked obama and the crooked Democrats for tying their hands.

A stain on a stain is still a stain.

24 hours behind bars is all I ask. We don’t need to be vengeful.

24 hours behind bars...a day...for life.

Nixon did admit guilt. It is a condition of accepting a pardon, and was emphasized by the citation of Burdick v. US in the text of the pardon. Nixon was allowed to admit ‘mistakes’ only in the context of Burdick.

Pretend I’m stupid. Explain in more basic terms, please, exactly what guilt Nixon acknowledged.

Thank you.

If he pardons Hill he will have to pardon Bill too.

The Clinton philanthrico foundation is under investigation.

http://geraldrfordfoundation.org/ken-gormley-president-fords-pardon-of-richard-nixon-a-40-year-retrospective/

...Benton Becker described the setting at the Nixon compound in California and the negotiations.

Becker stated that the Nixon team refused to accept the pardon as that would be an admission of guilt.

Becker informed Nixon that if he does not accept the pardon, President Ford will not offer it again when he is found guilty.

Nixon accepted the pardon, the legal precedent that the acceptance of the pardon was an admission of guilt via the decision in Burdick v united States and on September 8, 1974, 30 days after his resignation, President Ford surprised the nation with the pardon announcement...

STOP IT!

Hillary will never be CONVICTED of ALL her crimes in 70 days!

Obozo will be just a private citizen attending pizza parties with the Podesta brothers and have no power to issue pardons.

He can not issue pardons in advance. He can’t issue blanket pardons to people.

Hillary would have to hope Trump would pardon her.

After the “LOCK HER UP” refrain at all his rallies whenever Hillary’s name was mentioned, I don’t think Trump would dare pardon her, even if he wanted to.

My prediction. Obama pardons Hillary, and everyone else he can think of on Jan 18, then resigns, and Jan 19 Biden pardons Obama in his only official act as President. Then Jan 20, Trump voids the pardons.

One of the arguments for the Death Penalty is the deterrent effect. The same could be said for prosecution of Hillary ... it is a shot across the bow of anyone else that wants to corrupt our government.

Benton Becker and the legal system said Nixon’s ‘mistakes’ admission “represents an acknowledgment of obstruction of justice.”

Fascinating details really. And surprising to many of us.

Nixon did get a pardon for far less. Many people around him went to prison. Presidence is send Bill, Huma, etc to prison.

Well I certainly learned something. I can envision Hillary ‘tacitly,’ admitting guilt—only to deny it later. (She ran around claiming that Comey said she’d answered all questions honestly...until he sat in front of Congress and denied ever stating that she’d been honest.)

If, however, Hillary accepts the pardon, it will forever link her to Nixon—which is sweet justice, considering her unethical attempts to ruin him.
