RALEIGH, N.C. — The Trump train that carried Republicans to victory all over the South may have left one car behind in North Carolina — Gov. Pat McCrory, who trailed by a few thousand votes Thursday in a still too-close-to-call race that played out amid anger over the state's transgender bathroom law.

The law limiting LGBT rights appeared to have a substantial role in the Election Day contest between McCrory, who signed the measure and vigorously defended it against boycotts and other protests, and Democratic Attorney General Roy Cooper, who called for its repeal.

Absentee ballots were counted at 5 pm on election day. Cut-off for receiving absentee ballots was at 5 pm the day before the election.

Re-re-re-recount until the Dim wins examples:

Al Franken, US Senator/Jackass from MN: 2008

Christine Gregoire, WA Governor, 2004

Others?

If God had wanted us to use the metric system, Jesus would have had 10 apostles.

Per Ballotpedia-Approx. 4450 vote difference. I wonder if it is possible to make up the difference? I would hope RNC would step in and fund this “recount.” This needs to be pushed all the way!

It’s instructive that North Carolina’s reasonable, common-sense voter integrity (I.D.) law was unconstitutionally struck down at the 11th hour before the election. That most definitely played into this, especially considering all of the out-of-state SJW’s attacking NC over HB2. You know that students voted who weren’t eligible.

Shouldn’t they have an automatic recount when it is this close?

Thank you for sending that in! I plan to do the same - $100 is a nice round number!

And, you are welcome. I hope other FReepers may want to contribute - and to PRAY! This is not over yet!

I didn’t know Jesse Helms said that. He had a tremendous sense of wry humor. NC is much worse without him.

Vote fraud - Durham County (extremely liberal county) opened up a number of precincts to late voting. The NC Dems have learned how to cheat from the DNC.

NC can never match the five terms of Jesse Helms. He should have been Reagan’s v.p. in 1980, as Phyllis Schlafly proposed.

It seems to me that if (likely) McCrory does lose, this should be an excellent opportunity to leverage the Dem out in 4 years. Pick some job creating type projects / policies the nit is sure to oppose for, say, environmental reasons. (Farce type reasons, not solid reasons.) Perhaps some of these would fit in with Trump’s proposals. Ram ‘em through the opposition, anyway. This helps the Pubs (record of job creation in spite of opposition) and wrecks the meme that the transgender law has harmed NC’s economy. I’ll bet FReepers can think up other strategies, too. :-)

It is vitally important for Trump and team to tackle the voting fraud problem. Maybe a federal law imposing strict voter ID requirements for all federal elections would be in order. We should also do away with all the other methods of fraud that the democrats employ: early voting; extended voting hours; automatic registration; busing voters en mass to the polls; corrupt databases; et al.

Agree - find ways to defeat voter fraud. But it’s not easy. NC passed the voter ID law but it was overturned by a Court.

I don’t know if this has been appealed and now that we will have the RIGHT judges on the Supreme Court maybe it can be un-appealed.

That’s just one method of voter fraud the Dems use, though. One way to do it would be to stiffen the penalties for Voter fraud. I think that can only be done in the state legislatures.

Thanks for that info. Do you have a listing of how many outstanding votes are yet to be counted in the NC Gov. race?
