The only thing that ‘caught them off guard’ was that we don’t/didn’t believe their lies.

How could all these polls about the election be so wrong when polls show Obama has a 53% approval rating.

Uuuummmm, maybe the polls are wrong about that approval rating are wrong too

Liberals talk only to other liberals.
Echo machines repeat only what is said to them.
They live in a reinforcing bubble of liberal lies and mindless sycophant slogans.

As one person posted, they are self-licking lollipops.............

The editorialist's thesis is that the journalists' bias and ideology blinded them, and so they misjudged the outcome of the election.

They are not blind, they are cynics. They are paid to drive the propaganda of statism, totalitarianism, communism.

Deep down they may not be 100 percent on board with communism, but their careers depend on them towing the line.

They are like producers of porn. It may not be gratifying or fun for them to write this stuff but they have to do it to advance at their jobs.

They are organized, regimented, recruited, by these large news companies, run by the likes of Murdoch, Bezos, Schmidt, Zuckerburg, Soros, or some other leftist tyrant to crank out commie propaganda and they always will be dutiful.

All this phony journalistic soul-searching and introspection is just posing.

They want to make it look as if they, now freshly chastised by the Trump election and their failure to predict it, will come to their senses, shake off their biases, and be wise and fair in reporting the next election cycle.

It's bull. They will be shilling for Moochelle or for whomever in the Democrat Party they are told to market when the time comes.

It's what they do.

They give their questions ahead of time to their uniparty candidate. Ran as much, over 90% of stories, negative, about the opponent.

They hand rant scripts to their own cameraman and break down litrally on camera, when their master soros funded plans don’t work out because the one avenue they couldnt stop the truth from getting out on, got out.

Watch anything coming out from the uniparty on the internet adnd free speech laws. You will se who is not on our side, but is uniparty.

I think Hillary could have won this handily if she had done things differently many years ago & then continued in that venue. Might have been a Democrat accused of pretense & acting like a Repub, but so what? Something similar worked for certain others for a number of years.

The created a false impression to suppress the Trump vote and began to believe thier own false narrative. When the Prince did no show up with the glass slipper they realized they were not in Cinderellas fantasy anymore.
They lied and oversampled their media templates.
The guy that kept me sane thru the whole process was Sundance over at Conservative Treehouse.

Investor’s Business Daily was the only polling outfit that got right on the mark. They deserve some recognition.

Perhaps some words of Thomas Jefferson on the "press" may be refreshing for those who have witnessed its attempts at controlling the political process during this most recent election process:
[A despotic] government always [keeps] a kind of standing army of newswriters who, without any regard to truth or to what should be like truth, [invent] and put into the papers whatever might serve the ministers. This suffices with the mass of the people who have no means of distinguishing the false from the true paragraphs of a newspaper." --Thomas Jefferson to G. K. van Hogendorp, Oct. 13, 1785. (*) ME 5:181, Papers 8:632

"I am... for freedom of the press, and against all violations of the Constitution to silence by force and not by reason the complaints or criticisms, just or unjust, of our citizens against the conduct of their agents." --Thomas Jefferson to Elbridge Gerry, 1799. ME 10:78

"No experiment can be more interesting than that we are now trying, and which we trust will end in establishing the fact, that man may be governed by reason and truth. Our first object should therefore be, to leave open to him all the avenues to truth. The most effectual hitherto found, is the freedom of the press. It is, therefore, the first shut up by those who fear the investigation of their actions." --Thomas Jefferson to John Tyler, 1804. ME 11:33

"[I have seen] repeated instances of the publication of what has not been intended for the public eye, and the malignity with which political enemies torture every sentence from me into meanings imagined by their own wickedness only... Not fearing these political bull-dogs, I yet avoid putting myself in the way of being baited by them, and do not wish to volunteer away that portion of tranquillity, which a firm execution of my duties will permit me to enjoy." --Thomas Jefferson to John Norvell, 1807. ME 11:226

"Conscious that there was not a truth on earth which I feared should be known, I have lent myself willingly as the subject of a great experiment, which was to prove that an administration, conducting itself with integrity and common understanding, cannot be battered down even by the falsehoods of a licentious press, and consequently still less by the press as restrained within the legal and wholesome limits of truth. This experiment was wanting for the world to demonstrate the falsehood of the pretext that freedom of the press is incompatible with orderly government. I have never, therefore, even contradicted the thousands of calumnies so industriously propagated against myself. But the fact being once established, that the press is impotent when it abandons itself to falsehood, I leave to others to restore it to its strength by recalling it within the pale of truth. Within that, it is a noble institution, equally the friend of science and of civil liberty." --Thomas Jefferson to Thomas Seymour, 1807. ME 11:155

Even Hillary Clinton's strongest supporters would admit in private that she was a god-awful political candidate.

The 2016 election also found her in a bizarre political position. She had Barack Obama and the party leadership running around campaigning for her because she was too tired to campaign herself and/or so unlikeable that she had to keep out of the public eye. Her success would depend entirely on hard-left Democrat voters she had antagonized TWICE -- while running against Obama in 2008 and against Sanders in 2016. She couldn't count on her white, working-class Rust Belt supporters from 2008 anymore, because they were voting overwhelmingly for Trump.

The same pollsters that said Hillary would win say he has 56% approval.

My @$$.

Sure as hell wasn’t close to that with people that actually voted.
