How could all these polls about the election be so wrong when polls show Obama has a 53% approval rating.
Uuuummmm, maybe the polls are wrong about that approval rating are wrong too

I've always believed Obama's "personal popularity" numbers were inflated for two reasons:
(1) Many pollsters set up their questions to get the desired result. E.g. they will read a positive sounding preamble before asking the respondent's reaction. This technique doesn't always work, but it does skew the results.
(2) Some significant number of respondents were afraid to express disapproval of Obama, for fear of being considered "racist."
