Californians have passed a ballot initiative that expands on some of the nations toughest gun control measures.
Proposition 63 won on Tuesday and in early reporting had 63 percent of about 4.5 million votes cast.
It calls for a ban on large-capacity ammunition magazines; background checks for ammunition sales and speeding the seizure of firearms from people who are no longer allowed to own them.

Well that’s simple enough - the governor should refuse to enforce it like they did with Prop 8 - then refuse to defend the lawsuit that shows it’s unconstitutional.
Done.
“Washington state passed its anti-gun initiative too.”
So did Nevada :(
Court challenges to follow.
I ordered a bunch online last night when I saw this was passing. My wife and I agree that we are out of Cali within a year.
Time to do what the Democrats do, File a Lawsuit to overturn it.
The new DOJ needs to start enforcing it that way, and make elected officials subject to penalties the same as any other official civil rights violations. “
The way they did an end run around the rulings and the 2A as well as the California pre-emption laws is by allowing cities to define ammunition and magazines as not “arms” thereby allowing them to regulate possession. Now with Prop 63 it is now state wide. Mid 2017 10+ mags go bye bye. The background check for ammo will drive the prices through the roof. I expect spot checks at ranges for 10+mags with confiscation followed by a citation. It will be just an infraction for now.
That said I also expect the “offenders” to be on a list specific to firearms infractions with possible placement in the APPS system at a later date. That will trigger a Cali DOJ team to show up and take all firearms.
They have a nice new modern one on 80 West bound. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't have side scan radar that is used to flash inspect the big rigs although I doubt they would use it on individual cars unless there is something that triggers their suspicions.
About 3-4 years ago a professor at UC Davis was doing a study on gun related crime and importation of firearms and prohibited accessories from adjoining states. At that time there were Cali DOJ agents frequenting the Reno gunshows looking for big bulk purchases of ammo and hi-cap mags by people with Cali plates. The plates were noted and they did some stops on 80. They haven’t done anything that I have heard about in the recent past. It doesn't really matter as the Ag inspection stations are very easy to avoid.
Indeed, but I won’t say anymore on what I’m thinking. :-)
Why can’t Trump just affirm that every able bodied male is part of the militia, and then allow M16s to be purchased by all who participate in “regular” exercise of those arms?
