I was working at the U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Baghdad in 1983. There were NO Marine Guards there; the security was provided by Iraqi civilians. We were totally unarmed and at the mercy of any bad guys. There were six levels of security for any spy to penetrate; he would have to be able to penetrate six different combination locks. He wouldn’t have to worry about the clock. Every regulation regarding security was broken at US INT Baghdad. Outside the wire it wasn’t much better. We weren’t able to carry because to go about packing was considered to be “incompatible with our diplomatic status.” Somehow, we survived.
That infuriates me. I am way over taking guns from Marines and tying their hands behind their back. My son is a Marine and I am praying so much right now for him and all of us too that Trump will win and this PC Madness will be reigned in.
