One witness tells me he thinks that a folded up poster or sign that he saw the man holding was misidentified as a weapon, sparking panic.
Crites’ Facebook page indicates that he’s a Republican who is voting for Hillary Clinton. Shortly after the incident at the rally, Crites replaced the cover photo with one of an American flag. The original cover photo referred to Nevada Republicans proudly voting for Clinton.

Austyn Crites was in that rally as a Bird-dogger with his anti-trump sign, which he folded up in his pocket. It is interesting that just before he was tackled, Trump made a comment to another disrupter who was taken out as one who was paid his $1500 by Clinton. Both were paid by Clinton to be in that rally to disrupt.
Austyn Crites may also have been one of those Correct the Record paid “astroturf” trolls who respond to negative information about Clinton on social media sites like Facebook, Reddit, Instagram and Twitter. The “Breaking Barriers project has spent more than $6 million paying creeps like Crites to spew their pro Clinton, anti Trump tripe on social media.

As someone has already pointed out, it was an attention getting event for him. Now, he thinks he is famous. He is issuing statements.

One would think that such a person would have stuck around to give witness, whether or not Crites was found with a weapon OR one of the Trump supporters or the many police would have held him for questioning. But he disappeared which indicates he was part of the setup.
