I just received a curious robocall regarding the Missouri governor's race
Robocall | Huntress

I just received a really odd robocall. I didn't answer it, but heard the whole thing on the answering machine. It was Obama shilling for Chris Koster, talking about how he would raise the minimum wage, build on Obamacare, and protect Obama's legacy from the Republicans. At the end was the usual line that said it was paid for by some Democrat organization...then there was another statement that it was paid for by supporters of Eric Greitens.

In SW MO, Koster's ads all portray him as a conservative. I heard that he runs different ads in Kansas City and St. Louis that paint him as a liberal. I think Greitens has picked up on this and is using Koster's own ads against him. Very clever.

I’ve heard conservative ads for him in the KC area.

Yeah, Koster runs ads during Rush potraying himself as a big conservative. Ridiculous. Unfortunately, I think Koster will win pretty easily. He’s basically Jay Nixon redux.

I was out in Missouri a few weeks ago and got a pretty good picture of what's going on there. The Democratic candidate is a former Republican who is being endorsed by the NRA, and a lot of conservatives simply don't trust the Republican candidate.

For all the money that is being spent by those candidates, it may be remembered as one of the least consequential elections in the U.S. this year.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. We have run some pretty uninspiring Republican candidates here over the years.

Koster is pro-gun and one of the few Democrats touting his NRA endorsement.

Hillary is viewed as the opposite and will face a wipeout in MO.

Unfortunately the NRA endorsement is almost worthless nowadays. Even Dingy Harry got one although he did little to earn one.

Vote for Koster is a resounding rejection of the Republican Party.

I don’t feel bad about it. What has it done for us lately?

I believe Dingy Harry only got one late in his career after he voted in support of the Federal law that protects gun manufacturers from product liability lawsuits in cases that don’t involve actual product defects.

The Trump family likes to talk to my phone book. Usually if I don’t answer they hang up like the hoodlums form India. It will be over soon and all that will call is Credit Card Services. They have been calling over 15 years and won’t stop. No call list means nothing to them.

Koster is a Clinton-Obama clone/crony- even if he likes guns, he will roll to the tune of his handlers. Grietens is a weakling who spent months at the DNC grooming club and now is running as a Repub... I will vote for him but with concerns and let him know of them in writing if he wins....

The NRA lost my trust and I suppose if you are a single issue guy, living in a single issue fish bowl, then the NRAs endorsement may be valid for you, unfortunately, the world I see is not just about the 2A....

Without a Republican Governor, we have no hope of passing Right to Work in Missouri. Tax reform, etc.

Why are you surprised? - Koster a democrat, Obama is a democrat, so they are working together. That’s why only stupid republicans will vote for him.

You have two simple solutions.

#1. Get a new phone number

#2. Since you're obviously still on a land line, you deserve all the grief you're causing yourself. Drop the line and go wireless.........Duh!

Grietens seems like Hillary’s long-lost soulmate, in that they have both had POTUS ambitions since the womb. Everything he does is calculated toward that, and what will look good on his resume. I will probably hold my nose and vote for him; I’m not sure he would be as bad as a Dim governor.

I have a cell phone that I use only very occasionally. I get more unwanted calls on it than I do on my landline.

My landline has better sound quality, is never out of range, is $20/month including Canada, and it won't take texts. For some people, a primary landline is an easy choice.

It is a classic democrat move to sucker conservatives by posturing as a moderate in the election, then they inevitably shift to the left in office. Guys like Joe Manchin are a typical example, talks like a moderate, gets republican votes, and votes with Obama 90% of the time (while maintaining a pained look).

At the legislative level, the Missouri GOP is great. It just seems when we run our statewide candidates they have a lot of negatives surrounding them. I moved here in 1995 and we’ve had one Republican governnor since, but the house and senate have veto proof majorities. It’s strange.

Dropping the land line would stop the crank calls but I would get no calls as there is no reception here. No cable TV and the only antenna station is in spanish. Kinda nice when the elections are over.

I’m voting for Greitens so we have more support for the police and not the same TIRED Democrat crap. He is a new face of the same old business (Koster).
