FBI's Comey opposed naming Russians, citing election timing: Source

FBI Director James Comey argued privately that it was too close to Election Day for the United States government to name Russia as meddling in the U.S. election and ultimately ensured that the FBI's name was not on the document that the U.S. government put out, a former FBI official tells CNBC.

The official said some government insiders are perplexed as to why Comey would have election timing concerns with the Russian disclosure but not with the Huma Abedin email discovery disclosure he made Friday.

In the end, the Department of Homeland Security and The Office of the Director of National Intelligence issued the statement on Oct. 7, saying "The U.S. intelligence community is confident that the Russia

Maybe it’s because they’re not positive it’s Russia?

Because America is more important than Russia and certainly more important than what some politicians want to portray Russia to be.

BS. More disinformation being spun out by Clinton propaganda bots in a desperate attempt to discredit Comey.

There is NO official support for these “Russian Government Hackers” myth. It is pure “anonymously sourced”. Unless someone goes ON RECORD saying this, it is just more Clinton Propaganda.

Yeah, because one is the truth and the other is a lie. Duh...

This false parity nonsense is a typical tool of progressives.

What is this document they all claim to be citing where “US government intelligence” says that Russia is the source of the email leaks?

I heard something about 17 agencies saying it was the Russians, and all 17 agencies are headed by one guy. So it’s one guy saying it through his many agencies.

So then I heard Michael Medved parroting the “17 agencies” nonsense and cracked up.

Desperate media trying to pivot from what is in the message to attacking the messenger.

Pathetic!

Can be taken two ways.

1. He is trying (unfairly) to help Trump.

2. The information on these new emails must be so huge, he had no choice.

It HAS to be one of these - I’ll let my fellow freepers decide which....

So Hillary read and uses Saul Alinsky’s”Rules for Radicals”.
My guess is Trump countered with Sun Tzu’s “Art of War” and Miyamoto Musahi’s “The Book of The Five Rings.”

“Because America is more important than Russia and certainly more important than what some politicians want to portray Russia to be.”

Exactly right. The MSM are falling all over themselves trying to find moral equivalency between Clinton and Trump but it’s a lost cause. There is no moral equivalency to be found there.

Far more likely than Russians getting involved, is some rogue domestic agency (private OR another government agency experienced in cracking various encryption systems), taking advantage of policy differences within the legislative and executive branches, releasing the information to change the narrative.

And man, have they changed the narrative.

I agree. Trying to tie the hacking to the Trump campaign was utter nonsense.

Ridiculous

Yeah. That’s why I thought it was so funny that Medved was parroting Hillary’s talking points.

I remember him being against trump because he didn’t think Trump could beat Hillary. But then when Trump became the nominee for the R’s, Medved didn’t go all out supporting him. Quite the opposite. It was kind of amazing. I figured he was trying to send to Trump his marching orders on what to do to bring nevertrumpers back.

But he got so negative on trump I started wondering if he hated trump so much he’d support Hillary. I told my wife it was as if he was setting up his listeners to accept that Hillary is not that bad.

And, sure enough, just days later, he starts arguing with callers on the merits of Hillary compared to Trump. At first I thought he was just playing devil’s advocate when he was taking the, “What’s so bad about Hillary anyway?” attitude. But it was just the next step in, “sure, she’s not ideal, but she’s a safer bet than Trump”.

Yep. He went all the way. And then his stupid “17 agencies” tripe sealed the deal.

My understanding is there are 16 intel agencies under one umbrella. One of those agencies said something loosely about Russians, the umbrella agency—which afaik has no actual intel agents, it’s a bureacratic umbrella—repeated the finding, and now the narrative is 17 intel agencies found blah blah Russians blah. It is total spin.
