Time will tell, but I think there really are some very good people in the FBI that have as their only goal that Hillary lose. No indictment, no making America look any worse than it has been lately. Just make sure the corrupt Clintons lose, because they know whats coming if the Clintons win. They will settle for this reopening and further disclosures for this entire week if the only thing that comes from this is that Hillary finally is no longer a threat to our Republic.

Comey is trying to save himself from indictment and prosecution once a Trump administration takes over.
IMO a deal was reached between the Obama and Clinton factions that would include burying any action against Hillary Clinton. This assumed that Hillary would be selected as the next President.
Whatever was to be given in exchange has not been delivered and will not be delivered. Trump might actually be elected President, even against massive Democrat vote fraud. So the deal is off.
High-level Obama supporters in New York have come to understand that they will be thrown under a bus if Hillary is elected, where they might be able to survive in a Trump administration. So they have unleashed the NYPD and other resources to take out Hillary (by "lawfare" rather than violence).
Comey is responding to that pressure. He certainly cannot count on Obama to protect him after the election.
Obama can no longer count on some of his backers to stick with "the deal". The best he can do is avoid going down in flames with the Clintons.
It's just a theory. Make of it what you will.
Yes, resigning would be difficult if you were the breadwinner, had kids, needed a medical plan, were close to retirement age, etc. Family comes first so you have to dig in and do the best you can.

This guy is a a political whore and he’s found himself no other options. The wikileaks stuff, the possibility that other agencies (specifically NYPD) have the goods, and the fact that this might be within the jurisdiction of one of the few US attorneys with even a shred of integrity is what is behind this.
