The biggest business story in American sports this fall isn't the declining NFL ratings or anything that's happening on the field, court, or ice, it's the collapse in ESPN subscribers, which reflect a larger trend in the collapse of cable subscribers in general.

“it warms my heart to see ESPN tanking”
Same here...they are not allowed in our household. It’s a win for the little guy.
We cut cable several weeks ago in part due to the NFL sucking out loud and hating Americans like me.
I hope this is just the beginning.
I follow a couple major league sports, but always found ESPN and their presenters too trendy by half, too annoying, too hip, and eventually way too leftist.
It has nothing to do with their hard left turn. Just ask them.
I never really watched ESPN.
And I see, from their politics of late, that was a good thing to avoid doing.
But you are right--they are like MSNBC when it gets political or social. I get that there is a certain viewpoints out there--but the total lack of ideological diversity in their on air talent is truly breathtaking.
If Kate Fagin is on Around the Horn, I change the channel. She is the worst smug little Millennial SJW.
The people who cancelled are just racist, sexist, homophobes and the channel will be better without them.
So this is good news. :)

They won’t ... they’re all in. Only way ESPN dies is if Disney collapses. They’ll gladly take a loss on ESPN and cover that loss with Star Wars profits.
What the NFL needs to do is come to its senses, drop all of this stupid, left leaning garbage, and focus on the damn game and not all of the ancillary stories and other boring blather they run before, during, and after the game. A first step would be ending their contract with ESPN.
MSM, network TV “shows,” J.C. Penney, Target, NFL and now ESPN. Great!
I think I’ll go on down to Chick Fillet and have a bite of dinner.
Oldplayer
Reaction to what Rush justly calls the chickification of sports.
I make it a point not to watch them. Screw ESPN.
The Michael Jordan rule was violated: ESPN became the voice of the Democrats.
We quit watching when their sob sister analysts spent more time on dissecting the personal lives of the athletes than covering the games.
I check out the box scores but mostly their headlines are mostly about fags and obamatard’s sorts activities. They had him again when the Idiot in Chief picked the Warriors to win the title. They’re got nate Silver too so that cements where they lean politically. F em
Yippee!!!!
All is not lost! They can rehire Olbermann! Then their worries are over!
