Do not fall for the narrative that Comey announced his investigation because it was the right thing to do or he was some how going after Hillary.
Other FBI agents came across this information during their investigation. Realizing what they had in hand they knew they now had hard evidence of Hillary's criminal activity. Not willing to sit on this news they would have come forth on their own or leaked it to others.
A decision was made to get in front of it and put on the best face possible. A letter was crafted that allowed for Hillary to deny any wrong doing, while putting a lid on any potential leaks.
That theory is already in several threads, one a vanity also.

Huma is going to fall on the sword.
Part of me feels like we are being setup? What I mean is, the trend in the polls haven’t been looking good for Hillary lately, nor the early voting. What if next Friday, the FBI holds a huge news conference and declares Hillary innocent, just before the weekend of the election. What’s the impact then? As excited as I want to be, I don’t trust Comey at all.

IMHO, this is what is driving the Trump phenomenon, even if it is not being said so succinctly.
Regarding FBI Director Comey’s letter to Congress today. Democrats are tying themselves in knots, trying to carry empty pails of water uphill.
I believe it’s really quite simple. Classified docs>Huma>Tony>unsecured computer>State printer>Hillary>Sidney>Hillary. That much was already known from the 302 of the interview the FBI conducted with Huma back in APRIL. But the FBI didn’t seize the Abedin/Weiner devices at that time, That happened in AUGUST, after Weiner got caught sexting with that 15-yr-old girl. That is the other investigation to which Comey alludes in his letter.
The FBI’s job now is to figure out which classified documents were stored on any or all of those devices, and how many. As indicated above, my hunch is that all those classified emails that the FBI couldn’t find before, and which Hillary, Sidney, and their lawyers thought they had made disappear for good, are about to suddenly reappear, as if by magic.
They may have to build new wings at the women’s and men’s Federal prisons to house all the characters in this drama that are going DOWN.
Obviously, Comey was made aware of these new discoveries and decided to get in front of what could be an explosive exposure of his coverup. Guess what, @sshole, this is not going away this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a CYA action to counter the growing problem of the McAuliffe bribe, effectively kicking the proverbial can down the road. Once this new “investigation” runs its course (sometime next year), the same no-indictment conclusion will be reached.

I’ve been listening to a lot of different opinions, and I can’t remember who said it, but, it seems Comey has a mutiny on his hands in the FBI, and the underlings were going to go public with this information if Comey didn’t get in front of this. I know we are suspicious, but, maybe this is the truth.????
No; the Dems are very aware that voting is already underway in many parts of the country, so in a very real sense it is already election day. The Dems wouldn’t do anything to cause a dip in their own poll numbers, even briefly, at this late stage. Furthermore, did you hear Hillary’s press conference today? She was practically begging voters to vote early, with the emphasis on early. She wants people to vote before the next shoe drops.

Last time they escaped unscathed legally and politically. This time things may pan out differently.
Well, that would be a pretty stupid or desperate plan from the Hillary campaign as the toothpaste has been squeezed out and it will get messy putting it all back inside.
My feeling is it’s real. It doesn’t mean it involved Hillary. There were other players in the missing email and security breaches so somebody else can be going down.
Might be very senior level State or DOJ staffers, Huma or Cheryl Mills.
Perhaps Trumps refusal to cede the election during the debate and his constant drumming of ‘Rigged’ compelled Comey to reopen the investigation — knowing full well what information is coming out from Wikileaks and realizing that the country will be put into an untenable situation should Hillary win.
Its a whitewash.
Hillary has friends in high places and whether or not she wins, she won’t be indicted.
Laws are for the Little People.
The fwd vector from Tony alone could be anything from sexty girls to state actors.
