Just heard on WGAN radio in Portland, that Trump won the poll of Maine schoolchildren. I believe this is as/more reliable than media polls.

No one is voting for Hillary.

Not even schoolkids.

In my school in out state Minnesota it was: Trump 48%, Hillary 18% despite a massive write-in vote for a "cute, young male" teacher.

Obviously, the girls picked the cutie over Hillary.

Thanks for that.

That Q3 “result” stinks though, That is a big one. (Bloomberg’s NY gun law)

Maybe kids are more affected by teachers’ view on that one. Very doubtful it will really be that wide a margin.

Same with the New Jersey children’s school vote.

Trump is the choice of the parents who are in these areas. Children generally parrot their parent’s beliefs.

“...Trump won Maine schoolchildren ...”

This is very good news. The school children always get it right. Seriously. When my daughters were in their growing up school years, the school polling was accurate every single election - much to my dismay when Obama was predicted ...

Yes, this is a more accurate poll. The kids are revealing who their parents are voting for. They hear it at home. I know mine do.

The schoolchildren polls are not trivial, although they should be taken with a grain of salt. Kids say the darndest (and most honest and candid) things. Good sign for a state like Maine.

You're probably right.

Kids are smarter than a lot of people give them credit for. When I was in grade school one of my teachers did a mock election. Candidates were Reagan, Mondale and Nixon (Nixon was supposed to be a trick).

She tallied up the votes and there was only 1 vote for Nixon. She asked who voted for who, and it was revealed that the 1 vote for Nixon was mine. She then told me I couldn't vote for Nixon and why.

I asked her, "Is he on the ballot?"

She replied, "Yes".

To which I replied, "Well then I can vote for Nixon."

They are listening to what their parents are talking about.

This poll only reaches the kids who are actually in school, so it may oversample the kids whose parents are responsible law-abiding citizens.

Maine is going to help Trump win. If school kids are voting Trump, they know their parents are. I think Paul LaPage is energizing the Maine Republican party. Growing up my parents had a house in Maine and my friend’s brother is a state Rep in Augusta.
