“Add to that fact is the REVEALED behavior of just some of those employees favoring their chosen political party OR hurting the opposition party (Lois Learner at the IRS, FBI Command positions, DoJ rankers etc!) “

I agree with you in principle, but it is not a fact that Lois Lerner, James Comey (FBI command position) and DOJ Rankers are federal employees. They are not. They are obama appointees that will be replaced. And as appointees, they are expected to march to obama’s orders just like we will expect Trump appointees to follow his lead.

But yes, the hired fed employees in certain agencies will definitely feel very insecure when Trump takes over. I’d love to be a fly on an EPA office wall when the news is out that Trump will revoke Nixon’s exec order creating that nightmare.

EPA was in full-on panic in 1980, thinking the same thing about Ronaldus Megistus.

Somehow they survived anyway. They even managed to media-lynch RR's appointed EPA director right out of office.

I don't want to see a replay of that debacle.

Sorry but I disagree. First, Lois Leaner was a Bush'43 appointee, not Obama. The fact is that there is a policy about such appointees, needed to maintain institutional stability. That policy is for an appointee to remain until the appointee resigns or is replaced. If there is no replacement, the appointee remains even when the administration changes.

The same apparently applies for the FBI except for the Director who has a default term LIMIT of 10 years. Obama inherited Robert Mueller and even got approval to extend his term from 2011 to 2013. So Comey's default term runs to 2023 unless he chooses to resign earlier.

As for the DoJ, note I was saying 'rankers' to indicate I was talking about the staffers, not the Federal Attorneys or the Attorney General. The latter is replaced upon administration change but even the Federal Attorneys follow the 'remain' policy. Note that in 1993, new President Bill Clinton ASKED for the resignations of all 93 then current US Federal Attorneys (I am sure he retained some if not most.) Yet this was unusual practice as most times it appears that it is not done. So I think that the lower level rankers are again left in place even if previously appointed.
