After taking the oath of office following Richard Nixons 1974 resignation over Watergate, President Gerald Ford famously declared, My fellow Americans, our long national nightmare is over. Ford was mocked for self-serving grandiosity, yet time would prove him correct. The nation was tested by corruption in the Oval Office, but the constitutional system prevailed because good and brave people of both parties confronted the crisis. Most dramatically, Attorney General Elliot Richardson and his deputy, William Ruckelshaus, resigned rather than follow Nixons order to fire special prosecutor Archibald Cox in the Saturday Night Massacre. And Nixon himself resigned when even fellow Republicans signaled they were prepared to impeach and convict him. One result is that, while Nixonian is a synonym for illegal abuse of authority, his resignation and the smooth transfer of power marked a ringing triumph of justice. The fundamental principle that nobody in America is above the law was upheld in practice. Now imagine another scenario. America wakes up on Nov. 9 to President-elect Hillary Clinton, and to the cold reality that the same principle of equal justice is null and void.

There are NO “good” Rats, it would seem.
Last June 17, while I was in Florida trying to get a few days rest after my visit to Moscow, I first learned from news reports of the Watergate break-in.
Richard M Nixon April 30, 1973 Address to the Nation
It seems to have become party over country for most. Certainly party over Constitution, which is the real problem.
Al Capone could only wish he got Hillarys FBI treatment.
He made the ‘mistake’ of not promoting the 2ndDeputy FBI Director, to director when Hoover died. Mark Felt, became deep throat and took down a presidency for doing the same thing Nixon’s predecessors did.
At this point, all three branches of the federal government are corrupt and compromised.
It is time to alter or abolish.
Good. The Rats will have damaged their party’s “brand” with this Hillary foolishness worse than Nixon hurt the GOP. It will take them a generation to recover. Which is a good thing, IMHO. No more will Nixon be synonymous with corruption. Hillary and 0bama will have that honor. For the next 30 years the words “corrupt politician” will evoke images of these two. We may even be able to significantly turn our country around.
The establishment didn’t have the wagons circled quite as well back in ‘72. But they learned from Nixon and got it sorted out. We’ll never see another Dear Leader forced out of office again.
I've contemplated that sentiment for awhile now and the only conclusion I can come to for it is the Dems are a Godless party. Putting your trust in man and government will always fail. When you have no absolutes you can change the rules as you see fit.
The real problem is they are quickly learning that no matter how corrupt they are, on BOTH sides, we’ll keep electing them. And once they really know that, they’ll do whatever the hell they want.
Unfortunately, those who will be voting for Hillary Clinton don't care whether she's corrupt or not. Will they vote for future generations of corrupt Dems? Probably.
It is just kind of reassuring knowing the Rat party has self destructed at the same time as the GOP.
He did it’s why things are like the way they are.
