Another "study" based on nothing but opinion.

But here's the best part:

Gun activists march close to The University of Texas campus on Dec. 12, 2015 in Austin, Texas.

A study created and designed to reach that conclusion, no doubt.

The individual carrying the gun is safer.

This is thinly disguised agitprop paid for by Bloomberg. It is not a “study”.

Note the stupid assumption in the results.

It says guns on campus do not make campus safer.

That is not the criteria the U.S. uses to make decisions about personal liberty.

That assumes that everything that is not allowed is forbidden.

In the United States, the assumption is everything that is not forbidden is allowed.

It is up to the proponents of gun bans to prove that gun bans are Constitutional *and* significantly improve safety.

They cannot do so because gun bans do not do so.

Guns on Campuses Won't Make Them Safer: Study

That's true. That's why police don't carry guns.

Sure....when confronted by a mass shooter on campus, be sure to throw your book at them. Then immediately claim the area you’re in as a safe space. That will stop them every time.

The fact is that people with CC permits are extremely unlikely to commit a crime and may eve deter crime, so what could it hurt?

You know, at the end of the day, the purpose of the 2nd Amendment is not to necessarily make CAMPUSES safer. So-called “campus carry” is so that my daughter and wife can protect THEMSELVES as individual citizens while going to school.

If their carrying makes others safer, that’s an additional benefit. If their carrying doesn’t make other individuals safer, it is irrelevant.

That gun would not be as scary (and therefore much less dangerous) if the owner would just slap a coat of a soothing color of paint on it. A pale green or chartreuse, maybe?

From a Bloomberg funded health foundation at John’s Hopkins.

The report says:

It is too early to tell on this question but that won’t stop us from publishing a study of our preconceived notions which we will claim as fact.

Garbage. Complete BS.

Only an ignorant a-hole could think that having law abiding concealed carry permit holders armed on campus is a bad thing.

“Because the campus-carry movement is relatively new, there hasn’t been much evaluation of its impact on gun violence, the Johns Hopkins researchers said. So they examined studies that looked at issues relevant to the campus-carry question — including the impact of right-to-carry laws on violent crime, trends involving mass shootings and “factors that are unique to public safety on college campuses.”

IOW - they didn’t study data. They made assumptions about things like “trends involving mass shootings” and then guessed at what would happen.

“The incidence of civilian self-defensive gun use (SDGU) is difficult to discern as available data are based on self-report, and distinguishing aggressor from victim in interpersonal altercations can be highly subjective. Nonetheless, data from the National Crime Victimization Survey indicate that SDGU is relatively rare (about 102,000 self-reported incidents per year affecting 0.9% of all violent crime victimizations) and is no more effective in reducing victims’ risk of injury than other victim responses to attempted violent crimes.”

From the “study”, here:

http://www.jhsph.edu/research/centers-and-institutes/johns-hopkins-center-for-gun-policy-and-research/_pdfs/GunsOnCampus.pdf

So years ago, when I was returning from a hike in remote country, and 8 guys were drinking whiskey on my car, and they got off and started to fan out around me...I didn’t know I was about to be attacked? I might actually have been the aggressor when I pulled a gun and the 8 guys decided 6 rounds in a revolver was more than they wanted? And when I drove away, having shot no one, and didn’t report anything to anyone - it didn’t happen?

They claim most mass shooting do NOT take place in gun-free zones - and then define those as areas where where there are no cops. So Ft Hood, for example, was not a gun free zone because there are cops on Ft Hood. The fact that one could walk into a room and KNOW that no one there was allowed to carry didn’t make it a gun free zone because somewhere on Ft Hood, there was a cop with a gun!

And a movie theater isn’t a gun free zone, even if posted no guns, because there are cops somewhere in town carrying guns, and the cops are allowed to enter a movie theater.

Biased, anyone?

John Hopkins never met a gun control law they didn’t like. Follow the money to see who paid for the study. States that have had campus carry for a long time have not had a problem.

Study funded by Soros and Bloombastard.

In essence, their premise is you are in more danger if you arm yourself against an armed attacked. Idiot thinking which flies in the face of MILLIONS OF YEARS of biological evolution.

The total idiocy of people who actually BELIEVE liberal bombast and phony polls and data like this never ceases to amaze me.
