We do NOT have a good civil defense program. Ready.gov just doesn’t cut it. Russia, the Baltic states, Poland, Korea, and Switzerland have excellent civil defense programs.
Our emergency alert system being pushed out to smart phones is nice, but it's the "listen for instructions after the tone" part that nobody ever wants to talk about.
Lol. Yeah, as some one who has seen USG preparedness and FEMA operations up close, I would have zero confidence in them or USG regarding any disaster. They can’t handle situations from mother nature where they got a lot of advanced warning and had 100 meetings and telecons to discuss plans. I’m sure they wouldn’t fare any better after the major cities of the east coast, west coast, flyover country are vaporized and 10s of million of survivors are dying of radiation poisoning, burns, etc. Even the disruption of distribution of food and goods would cause breakdown of civil society. Add to that 10-100 million dying from burns and radiiation.
But, hey, the neocon puppet masters might then have their victory of Salafist jihadists in Syria because the biggest force opposing them is gone, so...
