“we use a black marker to note our choices, then it gets scanned into a black box when we drop the paper into it. How do I know my vote isn’t being switched right there?”

Votes are easily switched when scanners are involved. There’s a video out there (it did the rounds about 2 months ago) that shows exactly how the computers can be programmed to change the voting results. It’s done after testing to assure everything is on the up-and-up, and just before voting begins simply by the bad guy inserting the “virus” in the machine via flash drive.

No muss. No fuss. Election rigged and possibly stolen.

Here are the phone numbers (for each state) to report election fraud:

That would be a good indicator of where some machine managers would need to be shot!

Watch that.

You have no idea if YOUR vote counts either.

YOUR turn!

This is the video I was referring to. Another FReeper has already posted on this thread.

It’s insane that we’ve come to this point all because of a few frickin’ hanging chads and the idiots who couldn’t figure it out. Those IBM punch cards were wonderful, and if something were to be challenged later on, the cards are right there to be re-counted by hand. Not fun (I’ve done it), but it’s do-able and it’s accurate — assuming no Democrat has compromised the cards in storage.

The whole hanging chad controvery was contrived to drive acceptance of e-voting.

Then the fraud REALLY began.

I believe you’re right! Now, there is absolutely no trail to verify votes. How convenient.

WE’ve been sold down the river by the uniparty. The RNC is complicit in this. They’re all in on the game.

I don't believe rural people are "dumb"; if anything, they are more likely to spot an anomaly than dumbed down urban voters. Remember that the old rural population of sharecroppers and farm workers, and small farmers and ranchers as well, have largely left the farm country due to mechanization and economies of scale. The rural working class is now an urban working or welfare class.

Besides, Amarillo is not rural, but a city of about 200,000 population. Democrats are on defense in this area, as they hold almost no offices in either the courthouses or the legislature. Additionally, I am not aware that Texas is using any of the Soros-connected voting machines. This Web site has a list of states that use them. http://yournewswire.com/george-soros-owns-voting-machines/

Well then you have no idea if a check in a square and put it in a cardboard box is “going to count”.

And BTW, I DO know the demographics of my area, and that they mirror how the vote ultimately turns out each time, so I have no suspicion that anything is going on.

My voting district is left-wing, my congressional district is right.

So either they dont cheat or they suck really bad at it.

Now stop making excuses, and go take care of the election in your state, instead of wasting time on FR.

“I verified my results many times before hitting the submit button.”
My concern is what is to stop the “fraud coders” from changing the contents after you hit the submit button?

Randall County reported that 3,311 ballots were submitted Monday, up nearly 700 from the 2,660 that were cast on the first day for voting in 2012.

Potter County did not have a final figure as of press time, but elections officials reported that approximately 1,700 ballots were cast Monday, also the highest mark they have ever received for the first day of early voting.

Texas saw a record number of registered voters statewide with 15,100,824 as of Oct. 19, meaning more than 78 percent of age-eligible voters were registered. Texas’ previous high for registered voters came in 2012 with 13,646,226.

You have no way of knowing if your vote counts.

And really no way to DO anything about that either.

Not unlike me.

I will say this. When the McDaniel runoff happened in ‘14, it was 95F that day followed by a tstorm and humidity like a sauna. Nobody reported any wait times (all our friends and neighbors) at the polling place compared to ‘08. However, when the votes were counted, MORE people came out in my majority AA county in ‘14 than voted in ‘08 for Obama, when there were still paper ballot backups in the machines.

You have no recourse in this matter.

None.

Holy crap!! The memory card was hacked to show zero votes at the start of the test and a final vote of 7-1 when the ballots scanned were 2-6! To show it was the card and not the machine, the card was removed and inserted in another randomly selected machine with the same result. The election official was amazed and dejected, and one of lady voters participatiing in the test started crying.

The only positive for this system is that the ballots scanned can be hand counted (vs. a totally electronic system). Here in NM all ballots are marked and scanned and saved so they can be hand counted later if there is a challenge.

These are two separate issues.

1.) Making sure only those who are able to vote actually cast votes.

2.) Ensuring that the votes are counted in a way that reflects how they were cast.

For the first one, we need to set basic federal laws on who can vote. (legal citizens, non-felons, over 18 years old,etc...) Then the Secretary of State in the individual states (or similar position) is responsible for seeing that the law is followed. It is that simple. If there is a pattern of neglecting to enforce this, the Secretary of State should be held personally accountable, up to and including federal charges including jail time. Congress can also say that federal judges have no jurisdiction over state election rules. They are given this authority in Article 3 of the Constitution.

For the second one....You receive a random 10 digit number after you vote that you may physically write down on a piece of paper. You don’t get a printed receipt of this number and you can’t take a picture of it with your phone. The instant that you vote, your random number is publicly available online. After the polls close, the results of your ballot are made publicly available and are tied to this number. This way, you (nor anybody else) can prove that you cast your ballot the way you did. Anyone could go online, find a 10 digit number that voted a certain way and claim that is their personal voting receipt but they couldn’t prove it. You can be personally certain that if you copied the 10 digit number correctly, your ballot was legitimately counted.

While this idea isn’t foolproof, it is much better than the current system. You can atleast talk to your neighbors, friends, co-workers and other to verify that most people’s votes were counted o.k. You may still have people who either didn’t write their number down correctly or have sour grapes after their candidate loses and claim that the number online doesn’t accurately reflect how they voted. These will need to be investigated on a case by case basis to see if there is a pattern at certain poling locations or in certain states. You could setup a formal dispute process that would involve criminal consequences for lying.

Thanks, seems this was in 2006 or before. The video is the subject of the UC Berkeley report dated 2006. One can only hope that this has been ‘fixed’ since then. Ask for paper ballot.

I’ve been telling my husband for months that Hillary isn’t running herself ragged campaigning because the fix is all ready in. She knows she has enough voter fraud to win.

Tim Kaine had a 'rally' in Florida yesterday - 30 people showed up... ( and that number includes 'members of the press' and democrat 'operatives'.) Something doesn't add up...

“I actually bitched to the election worker when the machine announced ‘this vote is cancelled’ and the paper trail had disappeared. I got a blank stare for my efforts and a threat to call the ‘popo’ (on ME, for insinuating the vote wasn’t ‘fair’)”

You are the one with the voting machine problem, not me

“Not unlike me.”

Apparently you “said” something....well they’ll teach them.

“You have no recourse in this matter.
None.”

Because no one bothered to watch anything.

No one is going to make up for lazy.

Far easier to just post complaints on FR.

What, precisely, would you have me do?

The vote fraudcode probably deletes itself when the machine is shut down. Untraceable.

Complain to who, precisely, about what?
