Hundreds of women, girls and other supporters proudly donned their yoga pants Sunday afternoon as they peacefully paraded around the Rhode Island neighborhood of a man who derided the attire as tacky and ridiculous.
Alan Sorrentino says the response to the letter to the editor, printed in The Barrington Times Wednesday, has been vicious and that hes received death threats. He implored marchers to stay away from his home and maintained the letter was meant to be humorous.
But organizers say the so-called yoga pants parade wasnt a protest against Sorrentino specifically but part of a bigger movement against misogyny and men dictating how women should dress.

Hes right, spandex is supposed to be a privilege, its not a right. fat people should not wear it in public.
_————————————————————
Fat people especially but all folks should wear longer tops or tunics over their yoga pants.
Camel toes and fat rear ends should not be showing.

Yeah, if he wanted women parading past his house in their yoga pants, he went about it exactly the right way.

No one wears them in winter, and the inconvenience of no pockets will soon kill the fad.Oh, no. That's why they carry purses!

Women can dress nakedly and no man can say anything against them. But watch out how they like to sensor what the man who sees them can think and say. If the man say anything that has to do with lust, even though the woman provoked it, his life is suppose to be over. WHAT HYPOCRITS. If the modern day culture lacks anything it certainly isn’t an extreme amount of irrational hypocrisy.

So he was opining from a fashion perspective! That is one of the things that makes the whole story so ridiculous. The "outraged" feminists went out of their way to suggest Mr. Sorrentino was ogling them, or lusting after young women in yoga pants. Needless to say his interest is more like that of the many men in the fashion industry.

we could write a letter and have a yoga pants parade :-)

One of the comments to the Drudge report link on this was:

This guy must be unmarried.. If he is married, it would be to another man. Mr. Sorrentino is openly gay, which makes his criticism of women's clothing choices all the more amusing. The same women who are outraged that some gay guy has an opinion of their clothing choices flock to stores to buy clothes designed by - gay men.

If the man say anything that has to do with lust.. In Mr. Sorrentino's case the observations are of a purely professional nature, he is an openly gay man.
