Hundreds of women, girls and other supporters proudly donned their yoga pants Sunday afternoon as they peacefully paraded around the Rhode Island neighborhood of a man who derided the attire as tacky and ridiculous.
Alan Sorrentino says the response to the letter to the editor, printed in The Barrington Times Wednesday, has been vicious and that hes received death threats. He implored marchers to stay away from his home and maintained the letter was meant to be humorous.
But organizers say the so-called yoga pants parade wasnt a protest against Sorrentino specifically but part of a bigger movement against misogyny and men dictating how women should dress.

Potentially a smart guy
Some people look great in them. Some should really wear more concealing clothes. Who cares? No one wears them in winter, and the inconvenience of no pockets will soon kill the fad.
Been waiting years for a camel toe out. Yee haaaw!
Apologies to toes of all Camels everywhere for some of the egregious comparisons.
spandex is acceptable as long as its not filled with cellulite!!
Hope they’re happy when their civil liberties are destroyed if Hitlery seizes power.
He’s right, spandex is supposed to be a privlidge, it’s not a right. fat people should not wear it in public.
Misogyny and men dictating how women should dress? What, men aren’t entitled to an opinion anymore?

Can someone explain to me how men are dictating to women how to dress??? Are these people for real; we are supposed to take all this seriously???
My 2 cents is that some females may not know how they appear in yoga pants. They might not really like the fit of the pants, and how they accentuate certain spots, and are too tight in certain spots. Having said that, wear what you want. Nobody is dictating to you how to dress.
I work out at a gym 3 and 4 times per week. Weights mostly. But there are aerobics, Zumba, and a few other classes going on the b-ball court which is surround by a track and another ring of weight machines, aerobic machines etc...
I really don’t mind yoga pants. I don’t wear them, but they are admirable on some.
