‘Make a wish list’: Russian ambassador says Moscow ready to provide assistance to Philippines

After the president of the Philippines announced a separation from the US – a statement which his government has since walked back – Russia’s ambassador to the country said Moscow is ready to provide assistance to and fully cooperate with Manila.

“Formulate your wish list. What kind of assistance do you expect from Russia and we will be ready to sit down with you and discuss what can and should be done,” Russian Ambassador Igor Khovaev told GMA News on Friday.

He went on to state that Russia is open to working with the Philippines in “any area, any field of possible cooperation.”

The ambassador assured the news outlet that Moscow would not “interfere with the domestic affairs of a sovereign state,” and that the “true Russia” is much different than the one portrayed in Hollywood films.

Khovaev added that the Philippines and Russia “deserve to know each other much, much better.”

What a shame that we are losing one of our best allies and friends in Asia. Creating a vacuum China and / or Russia will step into.

I was stationed there for two years. While there, I spent a week on Leyte Island. This is the Island McArthur landed at during his long awaited return.

The old-timers on Leyte still remembered the horrors of Japanese occupation during WW2. Many of them told me how the Japanese routinely raped the women and abused the men.

The gratitude they had for American liberation endured even up to when I was there (1984). Every time I turned around someone was putting a beer in my hand.

It's a shame all that good-will is being squandered.

The good will is not gone.

This is all play acting to get Trump elected.

Russia is off the wall and doesn’t count.

There are good reasons for ChiPhil relations to mprove and they are strictly business. strictly money

The question, nearly 70 years ago, was “Who lost China?”

Today, that has changed to “Who lost the Philippines?”

US Naval power is no longer being projected strongly in the South China Sea. How long until we lose the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific?

We are very close to losing the Persian Gulf, and to a vastly inferior naval force. We have apparently also lost the eastern Mediterranean as well.

Should we encourage getting rid of every foreign leader that Obama, Kerry and Clinton have soured relations with?

Thank you for your kind words. I was 6 mo old when he was killed by a sniper. I have a picture of him in uniform holding me before he left in Sept, 44 to get on the ship heading to Leyte.

And electing a FAGGOT as president doesn’t hemp much, either.

“hemp” = help

Though Obama probably “hemps” a lot, too. Maybe even “humps” a bit with Reggie.
