Paul Ryan Could Be Ousted In 4 Weeks, Lame Duck Would Be In Chaos

I may have been way too optimistic a week ago when I posted that it was “hard to come up with a realistic scenario that ends with Paul Ryan (R-WI) as speaker of the House of Representatives in the next Congress.”

Never mind the next Congress: It now looks like Ryan could be deposed or forced to resign this Congress in the lame duck session that begins a week after Election Day.

In other words, Ryan may no longer be speaker about four weeks from now.

I say this after hearing from several highly reliable sources that the House Freedom Caucus is seriously considering doing to Ryan what it did to former Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) by threatening him with a privileged motion to vacate the chair. If a majority of the House supported the motion, Ryan would be removed immediately as speaker.

Getting 218 House Republicans to vote for a motion to vacate won’t be easy.

I am acquainted with his district. He has a firm grip of support there. Never mind that he stands on stage at local fairs and events and just lies through his teeth....

There has not been a Republican president since January 20th, 1989. At noon, to be precise.

Ryan has already poisoned the well before anyone reaches for a drink.

If Trump wins, there is a pre-existing problem with Ryan in the House. Great animosity between two branches of government from the get-go.

If Hillary wins, there is a pre-existing problem with Ryan in the House. In the past two years he has given democrats everything they want and more, and thinks the power of the purse has something to do with Gucci.

Dump him!

Not sure he’d care, as he’s pretty much assured of reelection as long as he cares to run.

Is there a quality replacement who can get elected or is this just a cathartic feel-good gesture?

Ryan has openly worked to undermine his own party’s democratically elected presidential candidate in concert with the other party.

Its up to the voters in his district if they want to reelect him but he should not only be stripped of his speakership but expelled from the Republican Party.

This really frosts me. Classical liberals are not in favor of a giant all powerful federal government with a king as executive.

While that may be so, Ryan will not be removed as speaker of this congress.

to even think so is foolish

Ryan is a cowardly weasel who only cares about his own power, he cares nothing about our country.

He is the poster boy for everything wrong with the republican party.

Boot that loser out.

“They did the same when they were swept into power under GWB. And acted like Pork Project dems, took it to a whole new level of spending.”

As the 2016 campaign season began, we learned why Denny Hastert, Speaker during the Bush Administration, was compromised. He was outed as a pedophile by anonymous sources in the Department of Justice who revealed to the press why he was being blackmailed.

Current House Speaker Ryan certainly behaves as though he is compromised and being directed by someone else. His public comments targeted at Donald Trump alienate the large segments of the GOP voter base supporting Trump, yet Ryan persists in piling on Trump with the media and Democrats. A political leader cannot remain in power by alienating a large segment of his constituency, yet Ryan persists in doing so. Compare Ryan’s “leadership” to Mitch McConnell who seems to be deliberately playing the safe game by staying out of the media frenzy. Jim Jeffords and Arlan Spector demonstrated currying favor with Democrats and the media by betraying the party will not earn any points for a turncoat Republican so Ryan’s suicidal behavior can only be explained by extortion. Someone has something on Ryan he doesn’t want to be exposed and it is so bad he is willing to risk offending voters he will need for a future presidential run.

Replacing Ryan with another long time GOP politician vulnerable to extortion is not going to result in a conservative agenda being enacted. Due to the high cost of running for reelection most conservatives who are not independently wealthy when elected to Congress, quickly become corrupted by the system. They sell out for one or more of the following — money, power, sex, time in the media spotlight.

Looking at Ryan, he doesn’t seem to be a media hound like John McCain and Lindsay Graham so his behavior likely cannot be explained by a desire to be constantly in the media spotlight. Ryan grew up in modest circumstances and today has a larger home than a Congressional salary alone would afford him so he may have sold out to monied interests and the lucrative book deals, highly paid speaking engagements given to politicians who do the bidding of the big money donors. Power and ambition seem to drive him as he has run for both Vice President and Speaker of the House, plus he has done nothing to discourage talk of a future presidential bid. Likely he has made a deal with the behind the scenes donors who will support his Congressional reelection campaigns as well as the staffs, consultants, and research any prospective presidential candidate will need to lay the groundwork for a future campaign.

As to sex, there have been no scandals involving Ryan yet, but Hastert’s pedophelia was not outed until after he moved out of the Speaker office and into a cushy lobbyist job. It may be Hastert’s calculated outing by DOJ officials, just as the 2016 campaign season began, was a warning to Republican office holders who were showing resistance to the establishment game plan. Could Ryan have been one of those for whom the message was intended?

I can’t think of too many classical liberals that stood in the way of radical liberalism in the last 50 years. Petri dish, imo.

My prediction: Trump has a lot of work to do on day 1, he is already getting his leadership in place to act immediately on his promises. Ryan the traitor will only get in his way. His plan is to work every rally every day, communicating the corruption to we the people as it comes out. I believe those 33,000 emails surface soon and nails her coffin shut as ABC, NBC, CNN and Faux will have to report on them. Trump mentions those emails at every highly televised event. He knows what is in them. He has been telling the story since day one, so we would be able to understand it as the info is leaked. IMO.
