Donald Trump is laying out delivered a long list of things he would do if elected president. During an appearance in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, he vows to act on them in the first 100 days in office.

“On November Eighth, Americans will be voting for this 100-day plan to restore prosperity to our country, secure our communities, and honesty to our government,” Trump says. “This is my pledge to you and if we follow these steps we will once more have a government of, by and for the people and importantly we will make America great again. Believe me.”

Here is the list of the “Contract with the American Voter” policies detailed by Trump:

1.Propose a Constitutional Amendment to impose term limits on all members of Congress

2.Institute a hiring freeze on all federal employees to reduce federal workforce through attrition (exempting military, public safety, and public health)

3.Require for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated.

4.Institute a five year-ban on White House and Congressional officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government service

5.Create a lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government.

6.Institute a complete ban on foreign lobbyists raising money for American elections.

7.Announce intention to renegotiate NAFTA or withdraw from the deal under Article 2205.

8.Announce withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

9.Direct Secretary of the Treasury to label China a currency manipulator.

10.Direct the Secretary of Commerce and U.S. Trade Representative to identify all foreign trading abuses that unfairly impact American workers and direct them to use every tool under American and international law to end those abuses immediately.

You’re comments often seem suspect to me. And your #8 just substantiated that.

Nothing on shrinking the government, eliminating cabinet agencies or cutting spending.

You're obviously not paying attention.

Some of us may have been absent from civics class but there is supposed to be a separation of powers in the US government. Some of the things he suggests he may do alone, but the majority of the items he desires must originate in congress, according to the constitution.

What about freezing federal employee hiring?

Except for military, public safety, and public health. In fact the headcount in the military should go way up (see #27). As for the rest what will get cut? With his exceptions the majority of all federal employees should be safe. So really the savings resulting from the hiring freeze would probably be more than eaten up by the increases in military spending, infrastructure spending, and spending on ICE and the wall.

Nothing on eliminating Education or Commerce or Agriculture. Nothing on tackling entitlements. Nothing really on shrinking government.

Did you not listen to the speech? Everything he said was about shrinking government.

Which of the 28 points shrinks government?

I agree with every single one of these.

For once, nothing for the SJW’s, guilt trippers or America haters.

Nothing but BOOM!

If he gets HALF of this done the economy will be on high speed recovery in 4 years.

The next 4 should be spent carving a new face on Rushmore

Lifting Zero’s EO’s, cutting federal hiring, eliminating UN funding, funneling money back to US infrastructure instead of wasteful foreign entities, lobbying and campaign busing band... were you even listening?

Repealing Obama's executive orders do nothing to reduce spending or shrink government. With all the exemptions the number of jobs lost in the hiring freeze will be minimal at best and will likely be offset by the increase in the military and border agents. He isn't eliminating UN funding, he's ending the U.S. funding for climate change programs and the funding for that is in the millions, not billions. Lobbying and campaign bans do nothing to shrink government.

My hope is that this is round one and he will continue to lay out real programs to get a handle on entitlements and eliminate whole agencies. I still believe that Trump is more likely to make real cuts than Clinton ever would.

See? I was listening.

I've waited my whole life to hear words like his from a presidential candidate. I think Rushmore is going to happen.

Trump's 28 point contract with the voter is a brilliant move. Thanx to Newt Gingrich, I'm certain he is the inspiration behind this. That video should play in every state several times a week until election day.

The 28 point contract with the voter needs to go viral on the Internet, published in as many places as possible, mailed out to millions of homes. Hammer it over and over.

If Hillary then wins, we have one ignorant electorate.

Doesn’t matter what she says because

1. Everything she says is a lie.

2. She’s not gonna be elected.

Go, Trump!

Actually, those powers *are* mentioned specifically in the Constitution. According to the Constitution, the government has an obligation to promote the public welfare—and the writers of the Constitution did NOT mean “permanent government handouts” when they wrote that. Furthermore, leaving the issues of public safety and health up to the states is more expensive than handling them at the federal level.

Do we really need 50 different sets of air quality standards? What about the cost to manufacturers of trying to comply with 50 different standards? Ditto for food safety, etc.

Government dole programs are not Constitutional. Nor are programs to try to control what people eat (which is a separate issue from food safety). Agencies that *do* have a Constitutional function absolutely must be limited, or they expand into areas that are none of the government’s business. As long as your car burns fuel cleanly, is it really the EPA’s business what kind of car it is?
