Paulding voting early in same numbers as state's second-largest county

More than 3,100 Paulding Countians have used their opportunity to vote early in this year's presidential election.

A total of 1,575 Paulding voters cast ballots Tuesday at the county's sole early voting location at the Watson Government Building in Dallas. That total almost matched Monday's total of 1,574 voters, said election supervisor Deidre Holden.

Monday's voter numbers also nearly matched the turnout in the state’s second-largest county, Gwinnett, in the number who cast ballots on the first day of the three-week early voting period before the Nov. 8 election. Gwinnett County's first-day count was 1,580 voters, said county spokesperson Joe Sorenson.

However, Paulding has about one-fifth of the registered voters that Gwinnett does. Paulding has 99,000 registered voters while Gwinnett has about 415,000 registered voters according to its web site, though that count was taken before the Oct. 11 deadline when new registrations surged statewide.

Give it a week and Gwinnett’s numbers will go up when they open more polling locations.

It takes up to 3 hours to vote.

There’s only ONE location in Paulding open - and they are outpacing Gwinnett.

But, but, I’ve just read in the Daily Telegraph that Hillary is going all in for Texas. Spending $1.5 millions on commercials.

(Is it a case of too much money to play with?)

When you take in $500 million in illegal foreign government contributions you can waste money like this

Lots of people in line in Cobb county too. Some democrats though. Paulding is more conservative overall than the Marietta-Smyrna- south Cobb illegal alien/welfare statist cabal..

All in?

Hillary is spending much more in Arizona with less than one-third of the electoral votes.

Hill is all in on AZ, FL, and Iowa. Texas doesn’t even rate.

My bad on the numbers

2012 Results:

Paulding - 27.5% for Obama, 71.2 for Romney

Gwinnett - 44.6% for Obama, 53.9% for Romney

Paulding has 99,000 registered voters while Gwinnett has about 415,000 registered voters

and the early voting turnout shows 1.59% of Paulding voters have voted early and only .38% of Gwinnett votes have voted early !!!

That's still a pace of 5 times more voters turning out in Red county vs Purple county ...

If its like that nation-wide, Trump will win big.

The polls are nowhere close to capturing the scale of GOP voter enthusiasm. Off the charts!

Turnout is more like 2014 than like 2012, which every one is basing the polling models on.

And they appear to be way off.

Actually, Hillary's campaign reminds me more and more of the YES campaign to make Sweden abandon its currency and join the Euro (2003). Like Hillary's campaign it was supported by all the main political parties (I know, I know...), the media, the industry, the labour unions. The difference in financing between the YES and NO campaign was about 500 millions to 50 millions.

The YES campaign poured money all over the place, on silly events, on a massive ad campaign in Stockholm - the only town in Sweden the YES was bound to win - and one of the few places it actually did win.

In the end, despite being called “reprobates”, “isolationists” and being criticized by our betters for not understanding the issues (some of us had written books on the Euro years before the campaign started) we, the NO:s won 56 - 42.

The critique did not end there of course. “Lower class voters”, “mountain cattle farmers” apparently made up more than 50% of the Swedish electorate. Doom and gloom was predicted. The Swedish currency was expected to crash. The exchange rate did move down the first hours after the election result was in, and then it was stable.

Less than five years later Greece and the Euro crashed. Our currency lost much of its exchange value, but our economy kept stable, and people kept their jobs, whereas in the rest of the EU unemployment rate shot up.

And now 13 years later the British deplorables also showed their “masters” who really decides.

I expect the US citizenry to do the same on the 8th November.

I'm calculating

Paulding 3,149 voters out of 99,000 registered = 3.18%
Gwinnett - ~3,160 (1,580 on Mon*2 to add Tuesday) out of 415,000 = 0.77%

Either way, good to see solid Trump area getting strong early votes.

Good numbers - thanks.

From three small blue counties:

Bibb - 2.2%

Muscogee - 2.4%

Lowndes - 3.6

This is a clear indication of voter enthusiasm!

It's looking like the Dem+3 turnout model that statespoll.com is realistic.

You can go to statespoll.com, he takes polls and adjusts them to match the more realistic Dem+3.
