New data out today from YouGov BrandIndex suggests that Fox News is losing its luster in the eyes of Republican consumers -- who, it must be noted, pretty much despise CNN and MSNBC more than ever.
It also must be noted that Fox News continues to dominate cable news ratings. Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly. Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly. Credit: Fox News
To compile BrandIndex, each weekday YouGov interviews thousands of people from its worldwide panel of 2.5 million consumers to gauge public perception of brands. For its 2016 ranking of best-perceived brands in the U.S., YouGov surveyed U.S. residents and then sorted responses by respondents' self-reported political affiliation: Republican, Democrat or Independent.
BrandIndex scores range from 100 to -100 and are calculated by subtracting negative feedback from positive (a score of zero is essentially neutral: overall equal positive and negative feedback). Consumer feedback regarding a wide variety of brands -- including household brands (e.g., Cheerios) and media brands -- was solicited.
In 2014, Fox News was the brand 10th best-perceived by Republicans; Craftsman was No. 1, CNN was No. 1,291 and MSBNC was No. 1,293. Related Stories The Third Presidential Debate Summed Up in 31 Tweets 84 Rejected Clinton Campaign Slogans, Courtesy of WikiLeaks
In 2015, Fox News slipped to No. 15; Band-Aid was No. 1, CNN was No. 1,388 and MSNBC was No. 1,391.
In the just-released 2016 YouGov BrandIndex ranking, Fox News is now No. 50 among the brands best-perceived by Republicans; Band-Aid is again No. 1, while CNN has dropped even further to No. 1,470 and MSNBC to No. 1,471.
What's been causing Fox News to lose some of its luster with Republicans?

FR is Moving to the Top!!
Megan will be gone after the election. She’ll show up on another. Hume was a good stand-in but he’ll be gone. What’s left? Maybe they all end up on Trumps new network and FNC goes the way of the NFL.
I went to Fox Business channel last night after the debate. FNC is a total joke in our house aside from Hannity and a bit of FNF in the morning.
If old Rupert doesn’t reign in his liberal sons FNC will soon become just another low ratings liberal news channel and an excellent opportunity for a new real news channel will open up.
They’ve become the Lindsey Graham and John McCain of tv stations
Yes - Fox Business is great. “Regular” Fox is awful...
I may have been a poll participant in this poll. However, I don’t remember a lot of questions about band-aid brands.
The questions were almost all about news organizations and personalities from the various network news shows.
The poll I participated in included all the MSM networks and newspapers. I wonder where ABC/NBC/CBS brands are in the list?
The Fox TV affiliate in Seattle, channel 13, is so liberal it is ridiculous. Conservative news up here is done by KTTH 770 radio. Even the, so called, other conservative talk radio station KVI is newsed by a liberal partner. Their commentators are good, but they are being surrounded with manure.

Before, during and after the debate I watched One America News Network ( http://www.oann.com/ ) and what a breath of fresh air. Went into another room where FoxNews was on and they appeared more like not cnn but MSNBC after a few hours of OANN!
I also like http://www.newsmaxtv.com but I highly recommend everyone give OANN a try. I watch it on my TV via ROKU.
Stopped watching Fox after Meg’s BS, never again. However, if Hannity leaves to start his own network I’ll go there.

Results are unfathomable IMO: why is there a difference?
Fox & Friends (a.m.) is conservative; so is Hannity.
More interesting to me is how Google and Youtube are high in the top 10 for Dems, low in the top 10 for indies, and off the top-10 list for Republicans.
Used to like her.
The key words here are, “used to”...
I went to RSBN.tv twice this morning and again just now and video is black screen with message “Steaming video not available”.
Hannity should stay on Fox. There’s nothing more valuable than a conservative with his own show on a network left of center.
But I guess they decided to abandon their niche and lurch to the left. Bad call, leftists hate Fox News and now conservatives are starting to as well. Probably off the air in five years.
