Why did Trump even agree to debate such a person? Trump would have been eons ahead if he refused to debate someone who by all rights should be involved in a trial for TREASON and HIGH CRIMES instead of running for high office, let alone dog catcher.

My contention is that he is now in a VERY GOOD position to pressure congress to prosecute the criminal and he needs to draw attention to the CRIME and FILTHY EVIL.
It is an attack on the justice of this country to debate a (high level) criminal except in a court of law. A criminal must be prosecuted. PERIOD. Anything else is an admission of weakness and confusion on the part of an otherwise honest candidate.
What a stink would erupt if he refused. Perhaps it would draw the due attention to the CRIMES!
Well it’s too late now, ‘cause he DIDN’T refuse. A lost opportunity.
