BEIJING, Oct 20 (Reuters) - Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte announced his "separation" from the United States on Thursday, declaring that it had "lost" and he had realigned with China as the two agreed to resolve their South China Sea dispute through talks.

Duterte made his comments in China, where he is visiting with at least 200 business people to pave the way for what he calls a new commercial alliance as relations with longtime ally the United States deteriorate.

His trade secretary, Ramon Lopez, said $13.5 billion in deals would be signed

Duterte's efforts to engage China, months after a tribunal ruling in the Hague over South China Sea disputes in favor of the Philippines, marks a reversal in foreign policy since the 71-year-old former mayor took office on June 30.

Our foolish side keeps underestimating our enemy -declaring they’re idiots.

It’s quite the contrary, all their moves are by design with ulterior motives contrary to American interest -It is the Obama ideology.

Well, if I were looking at an America ruled (yes, we have become a ruled people) by Hillary after being ruled by Obama, well I’d kick us out too.

Dueterte is doing whats best for his country I think. Cant say about their elections, govt or national mood.

My comment was in ref to the current US administration and its almost 100% failure rate.

This does vividly demonstrate that US is losing hegemony.

But let’s honestly ask ourselves if this is a bad thing. If Trump wins, this is a problem because I believe that an American military resurgence would be a worthwhile goal.

But if hitlery wins, maybe not. Hitlery could really be the ONE to round up her enemies and put them into camps, prisons and CMUs. at that point, conservatives would need a place to escape. A multipolar world at least gives us a chance to survive.

Gee, you’d think that after the scolding Hellary gave Dutarte in September about dissing Obama, he’d fall in line.

True. It furthers both the weakening of the US and the strengthening of our enemies.

Obama and Hillary are America hating marxists, always have been, and always will be.

Things can be salvaged IF we get a leader in the White House instead of the Marxist Neutured Poodle presently in the White Hut...

Relations with the Russians are the path to move beyond OPEC and the Petrodollar.

Balls, and LEADERSHIP required.

Go Trump!

True; it is a product of ideology.

On one level, I agree it is not idiocy. It is deliberate, and as another FReeper observed, it is not incompetence.

But on another level, I go back and forth on this.... can’t someone do something stupid competently?

I think embracing socialism is stupid, since one has to give up freedom, yet self-described socialists often have high IQs.

I think it’s possible to do a very competent job of strapping on a suicide vest and successfully blowing one’s self up (along with many others).

I suppose you could argue that many who claim to embrace a destructive ideology such as Sharia law are not themselves stupid enough to submit to it - they plan to exclude themselves from the negative consequences and reap the benifits of the dominant side of the equation.

I would argue that for someone like Obama, socialism is not the true ideology that motivates him, but rather the lie he tells to accumulate power over others. In that sense he is not stupid, and neither is the con man who uses his wit to fleece people.

Then, I find myself wondering whether there is indeed some sort of idiocy involved in choosing an evil path, in thinking one can continue to escape the consequences of taking the devil’s bargain.

As usual, a very thought-provoking post from Nathanbedford.

>>This is not the product of idiocy but of ideology. This is a result desired by Obama’s ideology

I don’t see it. Cold War attitudes die hard. The globalists absolutely do not want the BRICS development bank to succeed. The Philippines are going to become a partner of BRICS and this is a loss to the globalist fascist IMF and World Banks, hated in the developing world. Southeast Asia will follow and then Japan and Australia and New Zealand. BANKS, BANKERS, BANKING is what needs to be on the other side of the scope reticle.
