Luntz Focus Group: Trump Won The Debate, But It Was Close

The final presidential debate of the 2016 presidential election is over and according to pollster Frank Luntz and his focus group, Trump was the winner of tonight's debate. That being said, it was close.

The other winner of the night is moderator Chris Wallace, who did an excellent job managing the candidates, asking questions and staying out of the debate as a contestant.

Chris Wallace is hands down the best moderator of the cycle, bravo #debates— Katie Pavlich (@KatiePavlich) October 20, 2016

If it makes you feel better to disparage me along with Megan Kelly, enjoy but you cannot evade responsibility with insults the grave reckoning to come by slandering everyone with whom you disagree. How much better it would have been for us and for Donald Trump to have altered course as a result of Megan Kelly's question in the first debate.

He won, but I don’t understand why he didn’t attack her like he did in the second debate.
To get the cuck vote. He needed to play it “reasonable” and “in control.”

Correct but he could have been a little more clear on some issues. But that’s Trump. You have to take the whole package.

Wow... CNN focus group says 10 undecideds decide for Trump, only 5 to Clinton.
Jake Tapper looks very concerned.

My estimate is that Hittlery was allowed 50% more time to regurgitate canned lies. Wallace was absolutely terrible - always interrupting Trump right when he was trying to make the most important substantive points, then brought Hittlery right back in. In some ways it was probably better to let her drone on, showing her profound stupidity.

True to form you emerge from the swamp to play the bully but, tellingly, we have not heard any more false accusations from you about polling results lately.

Trump could have OWNED the debate by turning Wallace's "will you accept the result" into a discussion on the O'Keefe Democrat election fixer video -- and how he was fired today. There was absolutely no need to answer the question, and it was disastrous for him to say he wouldn't and would leave us "in suspense." Imbicilic...and DON'T YOU DARE tell me otherwise.

You can't make even ONE error like that with this enemedia. NOT ONE. And he did.

Wow... CNN focus group says 10 undecideds decide for Trump, only 5 to Clinton.

That's not unusual at this time of an election, provided the "challenger" can given the undecided voter a reason to vote for them. This is where Romney blew the election in 2012.

No way. Trump was the clear winner - by a mile.

I read somewhere (sorry did not note source) that Hillary spoke a total of 35 minutes, Trump 29.something. Over 5 minutes difference!

It’s not what people will talk about. It’s what the media will talk about and latch onto.

I take it you do not think Trump did well.

I disagree. I believe he did very well. He had a few moments where he could have done better, but overall he was solid. He didn’t get drawn into Hillary baiting him. He made connections with various parts of his audience that he needs to vote for him. pro-lifers/evangelicals - his answer on partial birth abortion - solid; appeals to inner city African Americans -solid; people who are worried about economy/jobs - his talk about running this country like he has run his company - solid.

People can talk all day long about who “won” the debate; I say he “won” because I believe his answers and demeanor helped shore up additional voters.

Are you voting for Trump?

Megan Kelly did not advance any truth; she along with the rest of the media are pushing their agenda to get Hillary elected. They will say and do anything to defeat and destroy him. If she thinks she can destroy him with the women vote, she will do it. If she thought she had street cred with the Latino vote, she would go there. She was pushing her agenda in that debate.

And there you have it. This is what I told my husband. He gave the squishy middle the thing they were looking for. Someone, anyone, to vote for besides Hillary. That is why he was VERY measured. Not to mention he was in BIG LEAGUE (ha) control of the facts. He was not the caricature that the media has made him out to be. They went, “wait, what?” “THIS is the guy you tell me I cant vote for?” He seems like a pretty level headed guy in command of the facts. He also never skirted issues. Like his taxes. He owned it. They see him as a straight shooter and they know she is a liar. Did you notice she NEVER denied that the Clinton Campaign was actually connected to the crap in the videos? They might even be thinking, wait maybe those women who accused Trump were a set up too. He played it EXACTLY right!

Bingo....it's all they have. They will beat that dead horse hoping it will stick.

I’m not saying he should or shouldn’t accept the results. Just that this will be the main topic of conversation coming out of the debate and it’s not a positive, winning topic for Trump.

For the many people across the country who have been turned off and sitting out elections, I think this is a winning issue. These are the potential new voters that Trump is targeting.

Patriotic conservatives never accept federal judges or lying lawyer politicians subverting our constitution. Megan Kelly is a media tramp... gossip is she rolls around in the hay with dirty old geezers climbing that ladder to success.
