Ok, we move some Marines to Norway and you’re thinking “Arab Spring.” I’ll back away from the interweb, now.

I don’t support ANY foreign military involvement by the US under this administration and as long as current ROE’s of our ground combat soldiers and marines are in place much less enforced.

Also, it needs to be carved at the top of the Washington Monument in 20 foot tall letters that an American soldier or Marine will Always receive the “benefit of ANY doubt” under the UCMJ.

This is more neo-con, globalist, elitist, Bilderberg Group, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Tonkin Gulf, Vietnam type thinking.

The last President who could lead this country in a war effectively was Abraham Lincoln, a good Republican back when there was such thing. I would say Reagan but I remember the Marine Barracks in Beirut. Don’t flame me! I love REagan. But, I’m still mad about the Marine Barracks.

I never understood how the Marine Barracks attack went essentially unpunished if I remember right.

I agree but there are too many kings playing this chess game. Chess is made for just two players at a time.

What you need to remember about Beirut was that the Marine detachment was part of a multinational peacekeeping force, not an agent of war. Yes it was a tragic mistake to participate in such a charade, but in the context of the times, it was a political consideration. It went badly, but not a failure of military leadership. Oh, and we sank the Iranian Navy in retaliation.

If there’s a nuclear exchange dems will just blame on somebody else or claim “it’s nobody’s fault”.

The value of the Marines to the defense of Norway would be degraded by putting them in a fixed defensive position. So this actually makes sense coming from this administration.

Throw in selling an even larger portion of our uranium off to feel good and make more illicit money to boot.

Marines are not unfamiliar with Norway. June 1965 My BLT (battalion landing team) fresh from a six month deployment to the 6th Fleet in the Med was routed north for a amphibiouslanding near Andoya Norway, north of the Arctic Circle.
It was called Operation Bar Drinker ... apparently that's where it was conceived ... idea being could Marines go from a warm climate to a arctic climate ... a wet landing with a 35% trench foot was the result.

This has nothing to do with chess and everything to do with filthy democrat politics. If the thin skinned little dork starts WWIII over this he should be strung up from the white house chandelier.

Bringing me in line with the FR Borscht Brigade, had you chosen to follow my reasoning.

Following your reasoning is more likely to bring me in line with a Hillary holding tank dump.

US assertions of Russian involvement in cyber hacks on American political organizations and individuals.

Have there really been any "US assertions of Russian involvement", meaning real intelligence and something provable? Or has it been Hillary campaign assertions in their attempt to deflect the Wikileaks damage to her by blaming it on a collusion between the Big Bad Russians and Trump?

Blaming it on the Russians just as a campaign ploy would be a pretty stupid and counterproductive stunt.

......I appreciate your comment and can tell you luv our military as nearly all freepers do. I also agree with most of what you say but am going to respectfully dis-agree with you on your “not a failure of military leadership” statement.

I believe the ancient law that a captain is responsible for his ship EVEN IF IN FACT HE IS NOT. Same goes for a Marine Commander. This AXIOM causes commanders to lay awake at night wondering if they’ve done ALL THEY COULD to protect the young men that are “his” responsibility ergo and arguably over the centuries it has saved lives.

One of the MAIN problems of these here United States Today is “accountability” which starts in elementary school with giving all the kids the same grade and no winner games. This situation has to be arrested and accountability re-instated at all levels if this country is to ever recover from the morons that have gripped it for “how many years?”

Thanks for your comments.
