What Would A Trump Media Network Do To Fox News?
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 17 Oct 2016 | Elaine Low

New York Observer owner — and Donald Trump's son-in-law — Jared Kushner has had a "brief," informal chat with deal maker and LionTree chief exec Aryeh Bourkoff about a postelection Trump-brand media network, according to the Financial Times, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Kushner reportedly reached out to the head of the boutique investment bank, a personal friend, over the last few months. Bourkoff is the financial advisor behind Walt Disney's (DIS) 2014 acquisition of Maker Studios, as well as a number of other deals.

Trump had told the Washington Post in mid-September that he had "no interest in a media company," calling it a "false rumor," amid chatter that he, possibly with ex-Fox News chairman Roger Ailes, was mulling the creation of a network. He then told the Post that he remained focused on "win(ning) the presidency."

But the most recent polls have shown Hillary Clinton to have anywhere from a 4-point to 11-point lead in the wake of the sexual assault allegations against Trump, an issue that has prompted numerous GOP lawmakers to withdraw their support for the Republican presidential nominee.

It is unclear exactly when Kushner's conversation with Bourkoff took place.

A theoretical Trump network could potentially siphon away viewers of Fox News, owned by 21st Century Fox (FOXA). Fox News also has a sister channel, Fox Business Channel.

While the Financial Times points out that squeezing another channel into a cable package would be difficult, Recode imagines it as an over-the-top service, calling a Trump channel "one that could rival or even supplant Fox News."

If a biased conservative news network was viable economically, there would be one.

Another stupid Bertism.

I dunno. Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell did OK for years and all they were selling was Jesus. I see a HUGE market for Jesus AND the USA.

A Trump News Network will put the rest out of business or force them to start reporting the truth in the NEWS. Hire Dennis Michael Lynch for Trump News Anchor.

Step one: Purchase OANN to create TNN.

Trump doesn't need to create his own media network.

If he wants to invest in one, start with One America News Network: http://oann.com/.

At the moment, the best investment would be to expand their audience. More cable systems would be a start, but a free streaming option would reach the millenial and cord-cutter demographic.

OANN is is available on KlowdTV for free during their beta test through the end of 2016. But, that is only a few more months.

The second step would be a targeted advertising campaign: banner ads would be a good start, but insertion into existing streaming video would expand their audience.

Once they build their audience, investment into original news programming would be the logical next step.

Frankly, if Trump did start a News Network, I would like to see FOX News have a come to Jesus moment and get back on the straight and narrow. If FOX did, then we could have 2 truly Conservative Cable networks (none of this “Fair and Balanced” crap) to help combat the ABCCBSCNNNBCMSNBC Evil Empire.

But I guess that’s up to Murdoch.

I might also draw away some of the annoying on-air talent -- or it might draw the good people and leave the annoying ones.

That.

And then they could get no viewers and go off the air, with the annoying ones sitting on an inner city sidewalk drinking from a bottle in a paper sack.

FOX News has no reason to exist except as a counterweight to the rest of the 5th Column media. To the extent that they fail to serve that purpose they put themselves at risk of being superceded by another network that will fill the void. What does FOX offer these days but a limp version of the bolshevik cant of the other networks?

It is the same dynamic that is seeing Trump wipe out the GOPe. The GOPe serve no purpose but to replicate in a weak, washed-out form, the totalitarian left. If totalitarianism is what you want, go full lefty. If freedom is what you want, go Trump. What does the GOPe offer these days but a limp version of the bolshevism of the other party?

It would put the final nail in that fair and balanced coffin. This morning, their talking heads were “ack, ack, ack” stuttering trying to deny the story that 96% of journalists donate to Clinton. Their stuttering busted them.

I, for one, would love to have a REAL NEWS network -— no slant right or left, or as little as humanly possible. “Just the facts” as Joe Friday used to say.

Who, what, when, where, in what way, by what means -— and, please, leave the “why” or motive to the viewer’ discretion unless there is a factual statement from the perpetrators that confirms their motivation.

And may I suggest these call letters: TRUE -— the TRUE Network

Trump should buy—OOAN and get it nation wide—or Trump News could be like them. Patriotic focus—News, talk, Matt Drudge, Sean Hannity, Sarah Palin, Pat Buchanan, Old Patriotic films—Maybe Old Ronald Reagan General electric hour?

Take a look at Hannity’s ratings the last week and see what might be happening. Of corse if Hillary steals the election it will never happen.

I well remember in my infant Free Republic days, many FReepers going through the same fight.

Time Warner came to he game very late. Now have Charter they carry it but only 720p. The others are in full 1080p.

Having a real alternative to that would be the second best thing to beating Hillary Clinton!

Beaten Hillary is the only thing else none of this matters.

I currently have 625 channels listed for Charter, of corse I don’t subscribe to all of them, but it shows the outright lie that there isn’t room for a new network. I watch a few shows on about 18 channels.

You noticed?
