A woman accused of insulting the kooky crown prince of Thailand was publicly humiliated and forced to grovel beneath a portrait of the countrys late king, according to reports Monday. Police officers dragged Umaporn Sarasat, 43, to the portrait of King Bhumibol Adulyadej outside a police station and forced her to kneel before it Sunday as 500 onlookers shouted wildly, according to a video posted by the Times of London.

Two SAS...wiping out a whole roomful of grunts. What a romantic tale! I always enjoyed watching Bruce Lee movies too.
“I’ve spent considerable time in Thailand.
That is definitely a topic treated with reverence.”

Have a friend in Hong Kong who just recently vacationed there for 5 weeks. Not for me, I’ve seen “Brokedown Palace”.

Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
THAILAND.
The Mainstream Media are trying to do the same to Trump supporters here.
This was told to me by the MP who actually had to go and deal with it. Take it or leave it as you will :)
How different, how very different, from the home life of our own dear Queen!
I have a feeling this new king is going to have problems the old king successfully kept in check. I can’t say that bodes well when you’re fighting a Mohammadan insurgency in part of your country.

In the UK model of constitutional monarchy, even the reigning monarch is not above the law.
We can compare and contrast this with the Clinton crime family. Or with other Liberal icons. If an English King suffocated a girl in a car he would be gone - but nothing happened to Teddy Kennedy.
America has given itself leaders who are above the law, while slowly evolving into a lawless state. And if this next election goes the wrong way, America will complete its transition to a brutal oligarchy.
BUT you guys are turning things round: hopefully America will pull back from the brink. Thank God for Trump.
IIRC, the name Bhumipol is pronounced “Phoomyphone”.
They had a strongman ruler once named Thanom Kittikachorn.
So a woman I knew named her Siamese cat “Kitty Kachorn”.
Isn’t that the President of NBC in front of a Hillary picture?
Somehow it also feeds into thiis affirmative action reverse monarchy called Marxism and North zkorean Stalinism....
We would think abolishing slavery and monarchy means just that, but apparently not. For some it means the hypocrisy of “reverse monarchy”.
The disease of Reverse racism or reverse colonization is very grave.
This is the problem with unchecked revolutions, the hubris is even worse than the original checked monarchy
The late Thai king murdered his older brother and the new Thai king is an insane maniac.
They would definitely arrest you if you badmouthed the old king. They’ll probably kill you if you badmouth the new one.
The government is a military junta.
I won’t be vacationing there anytime soon. Been there a bunch of times. It sucks.
"Ecetera, ecetera, ecetera."
The Brits need to figure out a way to skip a generation and go straight to Prince William.
I agree it sounds funny, but I doubt that someone named Umaporn is allowed to say so.
