They do serve as teaching warning moments.

>>They do serve as teaching warning moments.

Yes and no. They are generic warnings, but God does not work the same way today as he did then. The work of Jesus Christ on the cross changed the relationship between God and man (for the better) so he doesn’t have to involve himself in the operations of a single nation anymore. He is present in all nations now. He is even present in nations that despise him or corrupt his name. What you cant do is compare Hillary to Jezebel and expect the same outcomes.

I just look at how we approach certain Bible passages. Different ways. You have yours and I have mine.

Lovely post about Trump's name, stars & stripes forever; thank you!

There is one piece of conflicting information published by Wikipedia; on the page for Donald Trump's grandfather Friedrich Trumpf who migrated to the U.S., it says that he spelled his name with a "T" for "Trumpf" upon entry to the U.S. and shows a copy of his immigration record (ninth name from the bottom):

So his name change was not from "Drumpf" but from "Friedrich Trumpf" to "Frederick Trump" in the U.S. The Wikipedia page also claims:

...sources including the genealogy organization FamilySearch, a genealogist at About.com, and the 2013 book America's Obsessives concluded that both his father and his aunt's surname were Trump; while the 2001 book The Trumps: Three Generations of Builders and a Presidential Candidate wrote that the family name was changed from Drumpf to Trump during the Thirty Years' War of the 1600s.

Another amazing coincidence (with God there really are no coincidences) is that Friedrich Trumpf's bride, Donald's German grandmother, carried the surname Christ. He and his son Eric and daughter Ivanka certainly resemble her facially:

Elizabeth Christ and Frederick Trump, circa 1902

This article is well worth the read for all Christians—Catholics, Protestants, Charismatics, Evangelicals and anyone else I left out...

I, too, believe Trump has been anointed by God...I find it interesting that Franklin Graham has spent the last year going to every state exhorting Christians to vote—God is moving in this election, but we cannot afford to be idle- we need to encourage our non-voting Christian friends to get out and-vote and we need call our Reps and state in no uncertain terms that we want Trump for President and we want them to support a Trump presidency.

More from the article:

Trump scanned the room and said, “I think we had such a long period of Christian consensus in our culture and we kind of got ... spoiled. Is that the right word?” Then he turned the tables on us and said something shocking: “Every other ideological group in the country has a voice. If you don’t mind me saying so, you guys have gotten soft.”

Ouch! That’s the line I won’t forget. Then in a moment of reflection, he corrected himself, “I mean, we, myself included, we’ve had it easy as Christians for a long time in America. That’s been changing.”

From Trump’s perspective, Christian leaders are a people living in fear of having opinions. Subsequent to this meeting, he proposed lifting the Lyndon Johnson ban on churches discussing politics that hangs like an IRS sword over the heads of churches in America. The truth is, even if it’s lifted, pastors fear offending their flock.

What he said next may have been lost on others, but it hit me in a particularly striking way: “People who identify themselves as ‘Christian’ make up probably the single largest constituency in the country, but there is absolutely no unity, no punch ... not in political consensus or any other area I can see.”

When the meeting broke up, I went home feeling certain there is some sort of anointing on this man, but I couldn’t get my head wrapped around where he fit, nor could I figure out the purpose for me being in that meeting. That was when the next unexpected download hit me!
snip
This is the proposition I give to Christians who are dispirited by the failure of their favorite candidate to capture the nomination: Don’t ask, “Who is the most Christian?” Instead ask, “Who is the one anointed for the task?”

“Common grace” tells us that God acts in history to raise up leaders from unlikely places for the sake of His purposes and His people. In 1860, the pious evangelical Salmon Chase was a better Christian than the men he ran against, but the wily Lincoln got the nomination. Chase could not understand why God had denied him, but in the end, the Springfield, Illinois, lawyer proved to be the most suitable vessel for the coming chaos.

From my perspective, there is a Cyrus anointing on Trump. He is, as my friend Kim Clement said three years ago, “God’s trumpet.” I predicted his nomination, and I believe he is the chaos candidate set apart to navigate us through the chaos that is coming to America. I think America is due for a shaking regardless of who is in office. I believe the 45th president is meant to be an Isaiah 45 Cyrus.
snip
Trump is much like Churchill, lifting a warning voice about the unravelling of America at a time when the ruling class, buttressed by the media, want to deny there is anything wrong! In all likelihood, Trump is intuiting that which is on the horizon if changes are not made. Like Churchill, the opposition wants to exile him for sounding an alarm in his disturbingly blunt manner. The media assault on Trump is unprecedented.

I am going to keep praying, vote, and put pressure on my Congress Critter should HIllz try to steal the election...

It's dangerous to give this kind of blank check to any candidate.

You might want to say years afterwards that there was something providential in a politician's rise, but right now it's better to bear in mind that leaders are only human and fallible and often disappoint us.

When we are looking at a possible prophetic fulfillment, prayer is always to the good.

Excellent post, SubMareener.

In Nehemiah, the Lord has already prepared Ezra, and when Nehemiah comes to build the walls and reestablish Israel, he has Ezra read the law to the people. It is my prayer that this parallels a reinvigoration of Constitutional law in our nation with Trump’s rise to the White House and the reestablishment of the rights of the People and the borders of our nation.

Eh, I am not sure what a “modern” prophet is. I think Ginrich is very wise, and a true supporter of Trump, but he is not a prophet...as per Bible: Definition of a prophet:

1Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. 4You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. 6We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. 1 John 4:1-6

If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. Deuteronomy 18:22

Actually this morning, I posted a thread about your link:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3481177/posts

As I said, I don’t believe Gingrich is a prophet, However, I do believe God is working in this election and I pray He allows a Trump Presidency for our Country.

” If you don’t mind me saying so, you guys have gotten soft.””

That struck me as well, and it is so true. There is a lot of fear and confusion in the Christian Community. We fail to see how much influence we could have due to our numbers. We back down needlesly.

Many Christians I know are afraid to even verbalize that they support Trump, while at the same time Trump is taking hits from everywhere. Devastating hits. He’s still standing and fighting back. It is amazing to watch. Who else could take it?

He needs our support, to know we are behind him, not swayed by his attackers.

This election is a war.

I’m praying for Trump because I hope that a future generation has to make those decisions I mentioned.

Which is why *I* pray exactly the opposite. These decisions shoud be made by me, not my children,or grandchildren, or great-grandchildren. If the burden of such weighty decisions must fall, as G-d wills it, let the burden fall upon me, and not them...the infowarrior

If you pray for Hillary in order to force us to make these weighty decisions, then those descendants will probably never exist.

Thanks for the ping, I read the original link but it’s interesting to catch up on the comments.
I’ve said on here before and I do hope, “Cometh the hour, cometh the man.”
I have to pinch myself every morning that I’m not dreaming - on this side of the pond we voted for Brexit and on your side Trump won the nomination!
When I listened to him early on I thought he had a real chance, but there’s a bit of me in wonder, he can’t have got this far without some help . . .
