Total speculation on my part, but is it just possible that the plotters sent word out to select people in the media about the upcoming tape, and encouraged them to follow up by promising to release any tapes they might have? In doing so, it would create the impression that the tape was just the tip of the iceberg, when in truth,. It was all they had.
The more I hear about this coup, the more I think the real coup was always about a preplanned, staged, response, that they convinced themselves would be so overwhelming that it would force Trump out. Take a nothing story, preplan the spin, and strike hard and fast. That was the coup. The tape itself was practically a nothingburger.

He can't very well campaign on a platform of "Look at what immature, grotesque people Trump and I are." I think Geraldo made his accusation against Trump while having a faulty memory of just how bad he himself would look.
I'm concerned that Hillary's people may yet have leverage sufficient to produce Geraldo's tapes despite the cost to Geraldo and that we may yet hear more damaging statements from Trump.
Whatever comes, there is no way in Hell that we can allow Hillary to appoint future Supreme Court Justices. It's difficult for me to imagine anything that could possibly change that.
