The establishment plan was Pence would take the top of the ticket, lose, and then run Ryan-Rubio 2020. But Trump thwarted the coup attempt

Ryan probably figured out that either Trump would be shaken enough to pull out or a poor performance in last Sunday’s night debate would make him face the inevitable.
Neither happened. Trump is defiant and unbowed, he won the second debate and he’s still holding huge rallies.
Ryan was dumber than a bunch of rocks not thinking that events wouldn’t follow his script. That and the coup was clumsily executed.
As he’s learning now, the most dangerous kind of enemy to have is one with nothing to lose. That’s exactly the situation in which Trump finds himself now.
And he owes Ryan nothing.

The tapes and other negative revelations about Trump just makes Trump voters here less likely to reveal that they are voting for him.

hope Trump wins, but I am looking at the Real Clear Politics polls and it doesn’t look promising. Trump is 6 to 10 points behind. We only have four weeks.
I remember when the polls showed Romney was behind and we all hoped it wasn’t accurate. It turned out almost exactly right.
How can he win when he is so far down and many of his own party leaders have abandoned him?...

When this gets out to the general public, it becomes US citizens against the Uniparty that’s destroying the nation. Stop and think: Has any poll come to YOU and asked your opinion? I would say safely that most conservative voters have NEVER been approached by these “so called” survey agencies. They wallow in good feeding grounds like government, scholastic, educational and college areas, large special interest groups like all “man hating” organizations like women’s groups, ethnic hate societies against the “white devils” and demented sexual orientation focused groups. They don’t survey the standard hard working American voter who is paying dearly in both money and freedoms to support their liberal causes. DON’T BELIEVE FOR A MINUTE THAT THE MINISTRY OF PROPAGANDA DOES NOT EXIST!
Have they asked you about your choice? Have they asked even a tiny number of those on this forum? Have they asked anyone you know of who they will be supporting? I think if we truly are included in conservative circles the answer will be a resounding NO!
Simply put, Hillary winning is better for the GOP leadership.
They won’t have to fear Trump exposing them for what they have become, corrupt globalist. And they think we’ll come on board and vote them in to stop Hillary.
Personally if Trump loses, I’m done with raising my blood pressure worrying about politics. Nothing will change until the country collapses, if then.

I spend much, too much, time on reddit’s The_Donald and am astounded by the number of 30,40, 50 and 60+ year old people posting that they have registered to vote, for the very first time, so they can vote for Trump.
I no longer wonder why we are where we are as a country, when so many have never, before this election, bothered to participate in determining their own fate.
