Long time fan of his: Jeff Beck, Small Faces, Faces and early solo days. His later years as a crooner though were disappointing

A worthless piece of human drivel. So he has a few good songs, look at what they say. Sorry, cannot support this immoral bastard.

I dunno, it would have looked pretty creepy if he still sang "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" in his 60s. He's aged gracefully.

They can “knight” him all they want. It doesn’t change what he is. An immoral deviant who needs to come to Jesus.

For a music star he’s pretty tame. He plays with toy trains, too, for cryin’ out loud.

So the Ste’rts can now be knighted by an Orange King? Short memories, I guess, although they always been shady.

IIRC, Freddie Mercury was once quoted as saying ‘Elton, Rod and I considered forming a trio.....we were going to call it Hair (Elton), Teeth (Mercury) and Nose (Rod). At least they all had a sense of humor. That picture just looks strange though. I had a friend who played on a soccer team with Rod Stewart in LA, said Rod was a really nice guy.

Agree. The royal family is not doing themselves any favors scattering knighthoods about to degenerates even if they happen to be popular.

Keep “cryin’”. You shall know them by their works.

Remember when knighthood meant courage, chivalry and defense of God and country? Now, they give it to any popular minstrel who manages to avoid a drug-induced death for 60 years.

He's aged gracefully

I was referring primarily to his music in the later years.

It's like Roman citizenship during the later empire. Once it had been cheapened to the point where having it conferred no real distinction, they started handing it out to everyone. A modern "knight" is nowadays something akin to a Kentucky Colonel.

He rivals Michael Bolton for one of the worst so-called voices of all times. Sounds like he gargles with razor blades. And maybe he might have combed his hair. Still don’t know how he ever earned a dime, much less a shilling, in the show business.

The Royal family does not play a direct role in granting honors except for a few specific orders. (Garter, Thistle, Order of Merit and Royal Victorian Order).

Most honors are given at the suggestion of the government or by nomination by individuals and organizations.
