The power of incumbency is very strong. This is one reason why we need term limits on Congressmen and Senators.

The power of incumbency is partly just laziness and inertia on the part of voters, but a big part of it too is the fact that incumbents usually have the party's political machine (and its friends in the media) behind them. Any primary challengers are generally blacked out and invisible.

I'm with you on term limits: 2 terms is enough for a President, and it should be enough for a Senator too.

“”I think I might write in Lindsey Graham,” McCain replied, referring to his fellow senator and former Republican presidential candidate. “He’s an old, good friend of mine and a lot of people like him,” he added with a smile.”

Hey Johnny, you going to roll over and wake Lindsey up to tell him that?

And I hope that the good people of AZ write in someone other than McCain. Or in this case vote the Rat. After all, what is the difference?

That is an excellent idea!! We had planned to vote for the Green Party, but leaving the Senate and House lines blank will send a bigger message.

Of course Juan McCain will write in effeminate Lindsay. That will probably match Lindsay’s vote totals in the primaries.

These RINOs never learn how to respect the will of the American people.

You really shouldn’t do that, every idle word it says. Not a fan of McCain but seriously, don’t go there

It’s too damned bad the Viet Cong didn’t finish him...they probably saw his personality and his quisling ways even back then and realized it would do America more harm if they kept him alive.

John McCain is my senator. I saw a poll about a year ago about which state dislikes their senators the most. John McCain and Jeff Flake (our other senator) polled as the two most disliked senators by their constituents. John McCain has always been about himself, only himself, and getting favorable coverage from the corrupt media organizations.

His faux outrage about the Trump tapes is laughable. This is a man who cheated on and abandoned his first wife who was hospitalized at the time. He cheated with Cindy Hensley,a wealthy heiress he later married, because he needed cash and political backing to launch his political career.

During his pathetically ineffective campaign for president, McCain was recorded angrily getting up in Cindy’s face and calling her a “c**t”. What kind of man speaks that way to his wife? Seriously!!!

Unfortunately I will have to pinch my nose and vote for McCain because I do not the want Hillary/Obama-loving Democrat candidate to take the senate seat. After I vote, I will go home and shower and burn my clothes.

“Melanoma, the cancer he had, MUST RETURN AND TAKE HIM.”

Laz, you and me, we think alike. If you are going to pray for something, make it count. I have a very long list of people whom, if I manage to outlive, I plan to go pi$$ on their graves. I have absolutely NO FORGIVENESSS IN ME FOR ANY OF THE GOPE. We know what the RATS are, but the GOPE is worse because they “profess to be on our side,” when in reality, they are just the RATs fifth column. Hell, if Paul Ryno croaked today, I’d celebrate with a good bottle of wine.

I suspect McCain might have gotten into some gay sex in the Hanoi Hilton and got addicted. That’s the only possible explanation for his love of Graham.

ROTF-LMAO. That is the funniest headline I’ve seen in months. McCain might as well have said, “I’m a freaking lunatic like my ‘Special Squeeze’ Linda, so I’m going to vote for her/him instead of that vulgar, mean and nasty Donald Trump.” Hilarious!

Unfortunately, whoever you vote for in the AZ Senate race that is exactly what you'll get. I don't envy you...

Liberal Republicans like McCain, Ryan, Romney, the Bushes, etc. have done us more harm than any liberal Democrat. When a Democrat pushes a destructive policy, he doesn't pretend that he's doing it in the name of conservatism or patriotism, which leads to organized opposition by conservatives. When Republicans like McCain push destructive policies, they manage to convince enough people that they're doing so in the name of patriotism and conservatism, which deflects opposition.
