With a little more than 24 hours before Florida's voter registration deadline, the state's federal court ruled to extend the deadline Monday.
The final day Floridians can register to vote is now Wednesday at 5 p.m.
The Florida Democratic Party filed suit late Sunday to try to force state officials to extend the deadline for up to a week to allow residents who fled Hurricane Matthew to continue registering.
Governor Rick Scott had refused to allow more time.
Thousands of Floridians fled areas threatened by the storm, and at least a half a dozen deaths in the state have been blamed on Matthew and its aftermath.
The party argued in its lawsuit that minority voters are more likely to register closer to the election, and that voters in parts of the state untouched by Hurricane Matthew will face fewer obstacles to signing up.
'nough said! 10th Amendment is DEAD!
I bet most have registered already if they are going to. Another stupid feel good liberal nonsense.
In all honesty republicans should be out registering too. That’s one job the RNC should be doing more then anything else.
Yes we should be. But my point is that the skanky dems threw a fit when folks were registering new voters at a NSCAR event and they tried to stop it, I believe. The Palm Beach County Democrats are standing in front of Thrift Stores, Dollar stores, Aldis and Walmarts. Most shoppers at World Thrift in West Palm Beach do not even speak English. We all know who the Dems are targeting. Makes me sick.
They’ve had 3 years and 11 months since the last Presidential election to get their act together and register. This is nothing but legalized ballot stuffing; but honestly, it’s the same every 4 year cycle with this B.S. We should not be surprised by it, but be prepared for it.
does anyone know how many new voters the Florida GOP registered in the last 30 days? Frank Luntz claims its only 117. BS???
Doesn’t seem surprising.
Since Florida is a closed primary state, the big surge in registration by party takes place before primaries.
Florida is a state where a lot of registered Dems mostly vote GOP anyway.
thanks for info...puts it into perspective
LOTS of MSM propaganda going on
The perspective is that Florida has lost about 100,000 registered Dems since 2012, and the GOP has gained about 200,000 registrations in the same period.
I think it was originally Chris Steakhouse and Ruth bought it?
