The referee should have stopped it in the tenth. Punching at will, Donald Trump said, "Hillary used the power of her office to make $250 million. Why not put some money in? You made a lot of it while you were secretary of State?
*snip*
That's the decisive issue of the campaign: the corrupt machinations of a ruling elite that considers itself above the law, and the rage of the American people against the oligarchical ruling class that has pulled the ladder up behind it. Trump's bombshell below Clinton's waterline came at the end of the debate, well prepared by jabs at Clinton's erased emails and Bill's rapes. Trump used the "J" word--that is, jail. That was perhaps the evening's most important moment. This is not an election fought over competing policies but a struggle for legitimacy. A very large portion of the electorate (how large a portion we will discover next month) believes that its government is no longer legitimate, and that it has become the instrument of an entrenched rent-seeking oligarchy.
*snip*
Whoever wins, a very large part of the electorate--perhaps more than a third--will believe that the government lacks legitimacy. We have not had circumstances like this since the Civil War. If Trump loses, his voters will blame a corrupt oligarchy and its allied media for electing a criminal to the White House; if Clinton loses, the minority constituencies of the Democratic Party will respond as if the Klu Klux Klan had taken over Washington. There has never been anything like this in the past century and a half of American history, and it is thankless to predict the outcome. Nonetheless I will: Trump will crush it. Clinton, the major media, the pollsters, and the mainstream Republican Party have badly misread the insurrectionist mood of the electorate.

I’m actually interested in what Spengler thinks.
“We are great because we are good! I keep saying it. We are great because we are goo ... you will throw me in jail? But I’m good! I’m good!”
This is a man who knows what he is talking about.
Trump came for blood last night, saw the opportunity, and took it. He owned the stage, walked. Clinton was there, sitting, forced smile, rote pot shots. Her charge is spent—not once mention of her being a woman, no optimism. Her history clinged to helping children. Trump ignored this and blugeoned her while we cheered. I cheered.
Im actually interested in what Spengler thinks.
...
So I’ll bite; I know nothing about him; what’s his background, creds and such? thanks
Donald Trump: “Hillary used the power of her office to make $250 million. Why not put some money in? You made a lot of it while you were secretary of State?”
Kaboom!
All of that Clinton Foundation research concentrated like coal to a diamond.
Of course, it takes researcher like Liz to make it mean anything.
God bless you guys.
FRegards !
He's best known for writing in "Asia Times," but he also writes for "First Things" and publishes columns in other outlets. His 2011 book "How Civilizations Die" is an alternative look at demographic trends, contrasting with the views of (for example) Mark Steyn and Pat Buchanan.
I am no Trump fan. I actually agree on an intellectual level with most of the objections of the crowd over at National Review. But the selection of Hillary Clinton to be the Democratic nominee offends me at the core of my soul. Then when much of the GOPe and other powerful insiders back her, it is undeniable evidence that our Elite Establishment is corrupt and needs to be overthrown at the ballot box. And if it doesn't happen there-- we can look forward to a pending Civil War.
We are out of good answers here. During the primaries, I heard all the whining about Trump. But then I asked, "where is the 'responsible,' more moderate politician ready to address crucial issues like immigration and terrorism in a realistic way." Trump is where he is because the GOP's regular politicians have failed.
Excellent - thanks for posting because I am not familiar with this writer & would not have seen the article without the post.
I think the word you are looking is "pedigree". I had a Cocker Spengler once. Nice dog.
... Trump will crush it. Clinton, the major media, the pollsters, and the mainstream Republican Party have badly misread the insurrectionist mood of the electorate....
Exactly what this election is about and those in power Ryan, Cruz, McCain. Mconnell, (Bush) etc haven’t got a clue how despised they are for doing nothing while our country was corrupted.
That is one time when it became really obvious, but they really were at it with the confirmation hearings for Bork and Clarence Thomes. The commies were taking over back then.
Here's something to consider.
First of all, I agree that when Trump wins, there will be violent resistance, on the premise that his election lacks legitimacy.
When 95% of blacks vote for a black man, no one - and I mean no one - considers the result illegitimate.
When Trump wins, he will do so with a larger share of the white vote than any candidate since 1964 - perhaps as much as 70%.
Why will leftist whites, and their minority pets, consider that result illegitimate (because they surely will)?
And what does the fact that they believe this, and are prepared to resist, mean for our future, and our children's future?
I am afraid that you have to take this question to someplace like Reddit with a much younger demographic. They understand.
The generation that did this to them will possibly never be able to own up to just what they've done.
You will like this one.
"America's economy is corrupt, cartelized and anti-competitive," I wrote in August... Lockheed Martin's stock price has tripled during the past three years, and payment to its top management team has risen from $12 million a year to over $60 million a year, while Lockheed Martin's F-35 languishes in cost overruns and deployment delays. Produce a lemon and get rich: that's Washington. It is not a trivial matter, or unrepresentative of our national condition, that the FBI director who declined to prosecute Mrs. Clinton for mishandling of classified material just returned to government from a stint at Lockheed Martin, where he was paid $6 million for a single year's service. I don't know whether FBI Director Comey is corrupt. But it looks and smells terrible.
$6 million a year is a little bit above minimum wage, IIRC.
