There are any number of people qualified to warn you about the dangers of hurricanes. A college dropout with two hundred dollar hair sitting in a studio in New York City is not one of them.
But here's Shepard Smith embarrassing himself even by the already low standards of his miserable profession by squeezing one more ounce of drama from a natural disaster while treating people under threat from it with contempt.
Shepard Smith went full Anchorman. That was a terrible idea. But then again Shepard Smith is a terrible idea. But at least his terrible on air persona has now degenerated to the point where he's good for producing viral clips of his stupidity. That's progress. At least for him.
It is reported that FOX pays David Shepard Smith Jr. somewhere around $8 million dollars a year.

We on the east coast of Florida were in the path of Hurricane Matthew, we of course were watching every update etc. and packed ready to bug out. They issued a mandatory evacuation for 6am Thursday,
Our family from other parts of the country were going nuts, with all they heard on the news, about our imminent death. But we stayed and survived. I am disappointed in the way many media outlets handles this, especially Sheppard Smith, many family members were angry at the choice we made, due to the reporting.
One local reported gave an impassioned plea, and said the waves would not be breaking on the beach of our little are, but would be breaking at the intercoastal water way, that kind of frightened me. But he was wrong.
And can I add that I really grew tired of hearing him refer to the Trump audio tape with the “locker room talk” as a VIDEO. Can the man not tell the difference between an audio tape and a video???????

That is how he started, that is how he should end it.
