Ohio Sen. Rob Portman Calls on Trump to Quit
Wall Street Journal ^ | October 8, 2016 | Reid J. Epstein

Posted on 10/08/2016 6:51:47 PM PDT by Pinkbell

Ohio Sen. Rob Portman became the latest Republican senator to call on Donald Trump to quit the race.

“While I continue to respect those who still support Donald Trump, I can no longer support him,” Mr. Portman said in a statement. “I continue to believe our country cannot afford a Hillary Clinton presidency. I will be voting for Mike Pence for president.”

Mr. Portman becomes the latest in a flood of Republicans to have abandoned the party’s presidential nominee Saturday, a day after a 2005 recording emerged of Mr. Trump making lewd and degrading comments about women.

Cutting a parasite loose from its host will likely cause its death. There’s a whole class of parasites that need to meet extinction before they kill us first.

I'm not trying to convince you of anything.

I just laid out the facts of a "government" under Hillary Clinton.

Think "Sheriff of Nottingham" under King John, circa Robin Hood...

I said earlier today that while this could be Cankles, the whole leak smelled more of cuck/GOPE RINO attacks.

Portman has made a fool of himself. His high and mighty “conclusion” demonstrates that he is thinking at brain stem level.

While they don’t have to stick their necks out they are going out of their way to denounce Trump. Personally I don’t think they have enough of a following that their “endorsement” makes a difference. Who the hell do they think they are that to believe that people will blindly vote for who they endorse? That’s anohter symptom of their arrogance. The GOPe is so arrogant and out of touch it’s unbelievable.

Guess that all depends on how you define 'flood.'

If this country can survive a jug-eared dope like Barack Obama then we can survive Mrs. George W. Bush II.

I beg to differ. Zero never got to 5-4.

“I will be voting for Mike Pence for president.”

That is going to be very hard to do, since Mike Pence is not running for President...

If I'm a Republican candidate for a U.S. Senate seat and my senior advisors tell me I'm going to lose among key voter groups if I support Trump, then you can be damn sure I'm throwing him under the bus.

Part of Trump's appeal to a lot of us (including me) is that he wasn't a political insider. The good part of that is that he doesn't owe people favors. The downside is that nobody owes HIM favors, either.

Portman and Kaisch will both be embarrassed when Trump wins Ohio.

Portman and K-Sick will both be embarrassed when Trump wins by a landslide, and they are both left sucking 'hind-tit'.

Only because his last nominee came up during the height of the election season.

If you're going to lay out that tired old sh!t about Supreme Court nominations, then I've got news for you: you're going to go to your grave disappointed because the Federal judiciary is filled with @ssholes who were nominated by Republican presidents. Just ask Kim Davis, who spent time in a Kentucky jail because of some pr!ck nominated by George W. Bush. I don't have any faith in the judiciary branch of government no matter who is elected.

I have no problem with any of these candidates throwing Trump under the bus. They have their own races to win, and they can't be dragged down by an erratic candidate who has had no loyalty to the Republican Party and is going to disappear from politics forever if he loses.

Except of course that if Trump loses most of them can only win if an overwhelming majority of the Trump voters also vote for them. In fact they probably need somewhere between 90 and 100% of his voters to have a chance. Throwing Trump under the bus pretty much seals their fate, since even a small percentage of Trump voters declining to vote for the guys who stabbed their candidate in the back will cause them to lose their election.

The only candidates who can get away with trashing their own party's leaders are people running in House districts that always vote one way in the general election.

Yeah. It was said on the Howard Stern Show. It’s entertainment, not the Huntley Brinkley news.
